Leslie Fhima Opens Up About Her 2 Divorces and How She Doesn’t Want to Be Defined by Them
Opening up.
After “The Golden Bachelor” finale, Leslie Fhima sat down with Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt on the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast and opened up about some of her past relationships.
Serena asked Leslie about her past marriages and what led her to where she is today.
Leslie started off talking about her first marriage, saying, “Being divorced is not like the plague. It happens. With Brad and I, we were just really young. We kind of just became different. I don’t like to say ‘grew apart.’ But if I needed something in the middle of the night, if I called him, he’d help me. I’m very good friends with his siblings and his cousins. Minneapolis is a small big town, so everybody knows each other.”
Then, Leslie opened up about her second marriage, where cheating ultimately led to their divorce.
She said, “With David, there was infidelity in that marriage. I tried to keep my family together as long as I possibly could knowing what was going on. I just couldn’t do it. I wanted to stay married. That was all I wanted — was to be a wife, a mother, have a home, and have it all.”
Leslie continued on, saying, “It just didn’t work out. No fault of my own, but I couldn’t stay married to someone or be in a marriage with three people. My children understand, they love their dad, they love me. I don’t talk badly about them because I have nothing bad to say.”
Serena shared that fans are rooting for Leslie to find that bigger love that she deserves.
Leslie opened up about what she’s looking for in a partner going forward, saying, “I know exactly what I’m looking for. I am not going to lower my standards, but I’m also not going to be so picky. I don’t need to find someone who loves all the same things as me. At this stage of my life, I am going to be 65 in less than a month, I just really want someone to grow old with and that keeps active and can do things with me.”
She added that she wants “someone who can really be still together with. I want someone who makes me laugh, that loves life, and someone that has a family where we can mesh our families together and they really click. I want a companion.”
