EXCLUSIVE: Designer Randi Rahm Discusses Leslie Fhima & Theresa Nist’s Finale Gowns — See the Dresses!
Gowns to remember.
Bachelor Nation fans saw Theresa Nist and Gerry Turner find love and get engaged on the Season 1 finale of “The Golden Bachelor.”
Theresa looked stunning in her sequin silver and lavender gown as Gerry got down on one knee.
But since the finale, Bachelor Nation fans have also been buzzing for more info about Leslie's gown that we didn’t get to see her in during the finale.
Leslie did get a chance to try the gown on before her breakup with Gerry, and we got a chance to sit down with dress designer Randi Rahm for an exclusive interview with BachelorNation.com.
Randi opened up about these two special dresses and how creating looks for “The Golden Bachelor” cast compared to previous gowns she’s made for “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette” cast members.
And during our chat, Randi did clarify that the dress we got a glimpse of Leslie in was not $60,000, as she mentioned in the episode.
Stylist Cary Fetman shared exclusively with us that Leslie did try on a $60,000 dress to wear for the final day (it was actually her second choice!).
In the heat of the moment, Leslie got the two dresses mixed up, which is an honest mistake while in the midst of a breakup!
Check out our full interview with Randi below!
Bachelor Nation: Randi, thank you so much for chatting with us! Was there a difference in Leslie and Theresa picking out gowns with you from previous Bachelorettes?
Randi Rahm: Love you, Bachelor Nation! You know, it’s funny because being a good atelier, I always let the ladies come to me as a blank canvas and then I create for that person. What I’m known for is someone being able to come to me and I hear about who they are, what their desires are, and what makes them feel beautiful. What’s been so cool to show is that a lot of my dresses transcend age. Half of my clients are actually “Golden Bachelorettes,” if you will, like mothers of the bride. That’s how it’s always been for me as a designer, but it’s been fun for Bachelor Nation to get to see that as well. You can wear whatever you want at whatever age! I worked with stylist Cary Fetman too, and he told me how both Leslie and Theresa are so powerful and confident. So whether you’re 22 or 72, you can look beautiful in my pieces.
BN: Absolutely! I love that. Can you tell us a little more about each of the gowns?
RR: Yes! So I sent Cary an array of around 15 dresses (one of the ones that ended up not being picked was $60,000) that I thought could be good fits for these two ladies and they both surprised me with their choices. Theresa picked a very elegant, sexy, sequin gown and Leslie went with a classic strapless dress with a bold, beautiful blue color. Leslie’s dress I call one of my Grace Kelly kind of gowns. It’s a beautiful chiffon and if you get up close to it, you can see the mixing of fabrics to make textures. It’s really something beautiful. It’s just elegantly stunning and the color is fantastic. And Theresa’s has that very sexy slit, sequins, plunging neckline, washed texture, and it is very much in my collection. Like you see that dress, and you know it’s a Randi Rahm, so naturally I love it! A lot of fashion these days is more costume, but what I love about these two gowns is they are for real women and they both look so beautiful in them. I really love that these women leaned in and picked gowns that are beautiful and sexy because you should get to feel gorgeous in my dresses regardless of your age, size, height, etc.
BN: They were truly both so beautiful and I love that message of wearing your dresses at any age.
RR: Yes, well, that’s true couture! If you think about the history of fashion, that’s the whole point. I just make beautiful gowns for whoever, no matter what your age is. I’m so grateful the show has expanded to an older generation not only because you get to see them in my beautiful dresses, but because it’s so important for people to see love in all chapters of life. I hope we get to do it all again someday!
BN: Yes, thank you so much for your time, Randi! We love getting to chat about your gorgeous dresses.
