Christina Mandrell & Brayden Bowers Discuss Public Reaction to Their Relationship: ‘We Had the Foundation’
Getting candid.
During their conversation with Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt on the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast, newly engaged Christina Mandrell and Brayden Bowers opened up about hard launching their relationship.
The couple went public with their love during the season finale of “Bachelor in Paradise” and later got engaged at the “Golden Bachelor” wedding.
Now, Christina is sharing what the experience of going public with their relationship was like after keeping it private for months.
She said, “At that point, we already were in each other’s lives and it was like, ‘Oh yeah, we haven’t told the world.’ That was just a side note. It was something we were excited about, but also not something that really matters in the grand scheme of things. It didn’t matter if people would accept us or not because we had this foundation and that wasn’t going to change us or what our plans were.”
Despite being confident in their love, Christina said she did still care a bit about what people would think.
The Bachelor Nation star said, “But, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t care what people think. My overall thinking and overthinking was that whether people like us or not, it’d be hard to say that it doesn’t make sense as far as our energies. People are saying, ‘Well, they’re both really annoying, but they make sense. Their energies are just great.’ For the most part, we’ve had a lot of love and support and it’s been great.”
And she discussed getting to be in public for the first time since their relationship was announced.
Christina explained, “I was actually on a work trip in Florida and we knew we’d be seeing each other the next day when it all blew up. I knew it would be announced on the finale, but I didn’t know in what way. I sent in some videos and photos and it was just a few seconds. Those few seconds took off and my phone was blowing up. It was a lot of positive things and that was really cool. It does help and when we met up after being public it was like, finally!”
Brayden shared that he considers their relationship a “success story” from this season of “Paradise” because they never would have met if it weren’t for the Bachelor Nation shows.
He said that the season “ended awesome for me.”
We love Brayden and Christina’s love and can’t wait for all that the future holds for these two.
