Charity Lawson Reveals Why She & Dotun Olubeko Are Waiting Until 2025 to Get Married and More
Opening up.
Bachelor Nation fans saw Charity Lawson and Dotun Olubeko fall in love and get engaged on Season 20 of “The Bachelorette.”
Since their time on the show, the two have been enjoying time together with their family and friends and living in Los Angeles while Charity competed on “Dancing with the Stars.”
Now, they are back living in New York City and Charity just did a Q&A where she opened up about their future.
During the “Golden Wedding” special, Charity and Dotun revealed they are getting married in 2025, and in the Q&A, one fan asked why they are waiting until next year rather than getting married this year.
The former Bachelorette said, “This question: I do indeed have time today to answer this one. Planning. Simple as that. I think a lot of y’all forget or may not know what all has to go into wedding planning, and for me I personally do not want to plan a wedding in a rush of 5 months. I choose peace and not stress (which I will experience regardless cause it’s wedding planning).”
Charity went on, saying, “I went from one TV show to another and Dotun and I are just now settling into normalcy and getting our bearings which we are loving every second of it. This is a normal time frame. I want to enjoy and live out our engagement and it’ll be here before you know it, as we have already started planning. I love the excitement everyone has, but also respect our decision for what is most conducive for our lives. We are planning two ceremonies. So please, bare with us.”
You heard our girl! And she’s right, 2025 will be here before we know it!
Another fan asked how their transition moving to NYC has been and Charity shared, “Absolutely splendid. It’s the city of dreams, culture, and opportunities. NYC has always been somewhere I wanted to live at for a brief time and now I am doing that with my best friend. It’s great already having familiar faces here.”
She added, “Moving is a lot and it’s taking a while to get settled and get our apartment exactly how we like with all the decor details... but it’s coming along and will share once done. It’s very cold, but I’m doing great adjusting to it.”
We love to hear it!
A fan asked Charity what it’s been like to shoot to fame so quickly and have her life change so much over this past year.
She got candid saying, “I just be living. It’s something I don’t think I will ever get used to, but I will say now gaining normalcy back has been nice. It helps that I do have a strong sense of self, and I am able to keep myself grounded as needed. I’m extremely grateful to be in the position I am and to have experienced everything that came and continues to come my way.”
We love hearing from Charity and are glad she and Dotun are settling into their lives in NYC so well. We can’t wait for all that the future holds for these two!
