Jenn Reveals How Joey Helped Her Conquer a Fear During Their 1-on-1 Date: ‘I Felt Super Comfortable’

Bachelor Nation fans are getting to know Jenn on Joey’s season of “The Bachelor,” and this week she received a romantic one-on-one date.
Joey invited Jenn for a special day of surfing and the two later enjoyed a romantic drone show at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery.
Now, Jenn is stopping by the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast and opening up about how Joey helped her conquer a fear during their date.
She told co-hosts Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt how excited she was that Joey invited her on a one-on-one date.
Jenn said, “I was really hoping for the one-on-one, but I feel like every girl was hoping for it too at that point. Based on the last conversation Joey and I had, it just felt like the right time for us to have a one-on-one date.”
She went on, sharing, “I just really wanted it, so yes, I was so, so shocked getting it but also obviously so excited to get that one-on-one time with him.”
But when she found out they were going surfing, one of Jenn’s lifelong fears came up.
At first she was excited, saying, “I had never surfed in my life. When I found out I was going surfing, I didn’t know if it would go well. I have always wanted to try surfing. I am the kind of person who’s down to try anything and surfing has always been on my list.”
But Jenn continued, “I think the only thing that was stopping me is that I have a terrifying fear of sharks. My whole thought process was that they’re not going to let me die on TV and someone must’ve done research about sharks in the area.”
Thankfully, Joey was there to comfort her and made the experience really enjoyable and not scary at all.
Jenn said, “When I was in the water, I honestly felt super comfortable with Joey. Even though it was our first date, for some reason, he has this calming presence about him. He seemed like he knew what he was doing, so I knew he was going to save me if there was a shark.”
