Daisy Kent Discusses Why She Almost Left ‘The Bachelor’ After Night 1 and Why She Decided to Stay
Getting candid.
After Bachelor Nation saw Daisy Kent and Joey Graziadei’s heartbreaking split on last week’s finale of “The Bachelor,” Daisy stopped by the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast for a candid conversation about her time on the show.
Co-hosts Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt asked Daisy how she got cast on “The Bachelor” and what the process was like for her.
Daisy said, “I was making TikToks about a year ago about my cochlear implants and the process of getting it. Then a producer or someone in casting saw one of my TikToks that had gone viral. They reached out to me and asked if I would ever be interested in going on ‘The Bachelor’ and I said maybe.”
Serena asked Daisy if it was a difficult decision to go on the show so shortly after getting her cochlear implant.
Daisy said, “It was definitely a hard decision to go on the show because at the time I was still really learning a lot with my cochlear implant and speech didn’t sound as good as it can with it. I had a lot of conversations with my parents about it. I had already gone through a ton of stress because of the whole process and relearning to hear in a different way.”
The Bachelor Nation star shared that she actually wasn’t sure she was going to be able to stay after how overwhelmed she felt the first night.
She said, “I knew it was going to be hard going on the show because I was going to be around people I’d never met, so I couldn’t really focus on their mannerisms. I didn’t know anyone. I also talked to the producers a lot too and said that I didn’t know how it would go for me. The first night when I walked in, I wasn’t sure if I could do it and I actually talked to a couple of the producers saying I needed to leave because I wasn’t ready for this yet with all the noise.”
But Daisy said she was able to stay thanks to reassurances from the producers and her fellow cast members.
She said, “Everyone was so comforting and found ways to make me more comfortable, which was great. It was a hard decision, but I am so happy that I did it. They kept reassuring me that Night 1 would be the hardest night acoustically.”
Later in the podcast, Daisy also opened up to Joe and Serena about if she's ready to find love again.
She said, “I think yes. I’m not gonna say I’m not ready to date. I think if it was someone really special and someone that I really connected well with then yes. You never know what’s going to happen. I think right now is a time in my life where I want to put myself first because I haven’t been able to do that in a really long time. I just need to put myself first, but I’m not gonna say no either.”
