Ali Fedotowsky & Family Unexpectedly Hop on a Last-Minute Flight to Chicago — Find Out Why!
Turning lemons into lemonade!
Bachelor Nation fans got to know Ali Fedotowsky-Manno on Season 14 of “The Bachelor” and later when she returned to our screens for Season 6 of “The Bachelorette” as the leading lady.
Since her time on the shows, Ali got married to her boyfriend Kevin Manno in 2017 and gave birth to their two kids, Molly and Riley.
Now, the Bachelor Nation star has taken to Instagram to share a crazy adventure she and her family recently embarked on.
Alongside a series of photos from their journey, Ali wrote, “We are leaving the country this weekend for our kiddos fall break and on Monday evening Kevin checked his passport and realized it was expired.”
She explained how Kevin decided to wait to let her know this newfound information until after she had dropped the kids off at school the next morning to not stress her out. And it was at that point that Ali realized their kids’ passports were also about to expire.
“We had to grab them out of school early,” she explained, “and hopped on the first flight we could to…Chicago!!!”
Ali continued, “There were some express passport options in Nashville, but they required sending our passports overnight to a different city, and we just didn’t feel comfortable with that with the time crunch we’re on and we heard from other people that our safest bet was to head to the government building in Chicago where we can get a same-day passport.”
Ali shared her daughter Molly’s thoughts on unexpectedly going to Chicago and how she thought it was going to be a normal day in a sweet video.
Molly said, “So I woke up this morning thinking it’s going to be a normal school day, because I didn’t want to go to school, but then I thought that normal school days are fun. But then when I left PE and my teacher said that I’m supposed to get my things because I’m going to Chicago, my mind just exploded with questions.”
She expressed, “I didn’t even have any clue that was going to happen. I didn’t know if she was talking to me, she was talking to someone else, and it was just so weird and here I am, Chicago! Thought it was going to be a normal day, but nope. It’s pretty cool.”
Ali also shared how they decided to make the most of their unexpected adventure and do some sightseeing while they were in the city.
The Bachelor Nation star’s father-in-law also drove an hour into the city before the sun came up to bring them a copy of Kevin’s birth certificate in case they needed it for his passport.
Ali then shared, “Made it to the Chicago passport agency. We had an 8 AM appointment. We were there by 7:30 AM to get in line early and we were out of the building by 8:30 AM. We don’t have passports yet. But we’re supposed to be able to pick them up later this afternoon and then fly back to Nashville!”
Ali expressed how this last-minute adventure overall turned out to be very special to their family.
She said, “No matter what happens we got to spend a little unexpected time in a city we love and the place [Kevin and I] met.”
Ali captioned her post with the biggest lesson she learned, “Moral of the story…check your passports 🤪 But more importantly, take those lemons and make lemonade!”
What a fun, unexpected adventure!
We love the life and family that Ali has built and their ability to turn what could’ve been a stressful situation into a fun experience.
We hope they have a great family trip abroad and can’t wait to hear more about their traveling adventures!
