Colton Underwood Discusses Being a First-Time Parent and How He Picked His Son’s Name: It Means ‘Overseer’
Opening up.
Bachelor Nation fans got to know Colton Underwood on Season 14 of “The Bachelorette,” and he returned to our screens for Season 5 of “Bachelor in Paradise” before becoming the Season 23 Bachelor.
After his time on the Bachelor Nation shows, Colton came out as gay and married his husband Jordan Brown last May in Napa Valley, California.
Earlier this year, the couple celebrated their first anniversary and just welcomed their first child together last month.
Now, the Bachelor Nation star has taken to Instagram to answer some fan Q&As about being a first-time parent.
One fan asked Colton how it’s been so far being a dad, and he responded that it’s been amazing.
Over a picture of him and his son sleeping on the couch, Colton wrote, “The craziest / best feeling ever. I’m so full of joy and happiness. My proudest role ever.”
Another fan asked how Colton and Jordan’s two dogs are adjusting to their new baby brother.
The new father answered, “Our German (Zooka) is his protector. Any cry, burp or snort she’s all over it checking on him.”
However, he shared that their other dog Scout has been more unsure. Colton said, “Scout (boarder / Aussie mix) is a tad jealous and unsure. We followed @dogmeets_baby for all the tips / tricks.”
When Colton and Jordan announced the birth of their son, they shared that they named him Bishop Colton Brown-Underwood.
And one fan wanted to know how the parents decided on their son’s name.
Colton shared, “We were obsessed with ‘B’ names and Bishop was the very first name we loved. We also looked up the meaning, it means ‘overseer’ and that solidified it.”
How cool!
We love hearing updates from Colton and can’t get enough of baby Bishop.
Bachelor Nation is continuing to send our love during this exciting time! Congratulations again!
