Vanessa Grimaldi Discusses the Importance of Celebrating ‘Chrismukkah’ with Her Family
Blending traditions.
Bachelor Nation fans first met Vanessa Grimaldi on Season 21 of “The Bachelor.” Since her time on the show, Vanessa found love off-screen and married her husband, Josh Wolfe.
The two tied the knot on August 20, 2021, and welcomed their first child, Winston, together in September 2022.
If you’ve been keeping up with Vanessa and her family, you know that she and her husband are raising their son by celebrating the traditions of both of their religions.
This week, Vanessa took to Instagram to share the importance of celebrating both Christmas and Hanukkah with their family and how they make blending their religions work.
Alongside a video compilation, the Bachelor Nation star wrote, “I remember the feeling of familiarity and warmth the first time I celebrated a High Holiday with Josh’s family. There was so much I related to and more I wanted to learn. Faith has always been important to me. I grew up in a strong, Italian, Catholic household where I was part of the church choir. So, it’s deeply important to us that Winston grows up feeling a strong connection to the cultural traditions and spiritual rituals of both our Jewish and Christian backgrounds.”
The mama went on, saying, “We want him to not only know the practices of each faith — whether it’s watching Josh do his morning prayers or going to church together, but to understand the deeper meaning behind why we celebrate and commemorate the holidays we do. By embracing both traditions, we hope to give Winston a profound appreciation for the shared roots and values that unite them. That unite Josh and I.”
Vanessa shared why celebrating both holidays together is so special for their families.
She explained, “Christmas and Hanukkah are particularly special times for us to reflect on this connection. These holidays remind us of the power of light, hope, and resilience in the face of darkness. While some might see Chrismukkah as a playful blending of traditions, for us, it holds a much deeper meaning. It’s a time to honor our shared values, to celebrate the beauty of our intertwined heritages, and to pass that understanding on to Winston with love and intention.”
We love hearing about how Bachelor Nation stars celebrate the holiday season with their families and can’t wait to see what Vanessa and her family get up to this year!
