Ashley Iaconetti Reveals Controversial Holiday Gifting Preference: ‘Let Me Know If I’m Right’
Holiday realness.
As Bachelor Nation fans know, Jared Haibon and Ashley Iaconetti Haibon first met on Season 2 of “Bachelor in Paradise” in 2015.
The two got engaged on Season 5 of “Bachelor in Paradise” and tied the knot in August 2019.
Since then, they’ve welcomed son Dawson into their lives, and their second son Hayden earlier this year.
Now, Ashley has taken to Instagram to share a controversial holiday gifting opinion as we head into Christmas and Hanukkah next week.
The Bachelor Nation star shared a video while holding her son Hayden and said, “Gift cards are what I would most like to receive and I think this applies to most people. Let me know if I’m right.”
Ashley had her followers vote and 68% agreed with her, saying they want a gift card or experience gift, while 32% said they wanted a physical gift.
She elaborated on her hot take, saying, “I could get stuff for my parents to unwrap, but I know they’d rather get gift cards to their favorite restaurants because going to dinner is their favorite thing to do. I could get my sister clothes or something, but she’ll be more thrilled about having to pay less at her next Botox appointment. So I’m gonna get her a gift card to @aiyanaatelier.”
Ashley added, “Now, I understand not getting your spouse that you share a bank account with a gift card, BUT I also know some people… me included... are less likely to book something like a spa day without one and it’s a gift to have a *me* day! It’s the gift of an experience. Ultimately, in my opinion, the most personal gift you can give is dependent on the person you’re giving to. This year I’ve loved buying physical items for some people and gift cards for others.”
She ended her story by saying she thinks it may be a mom thing and that moms are pro-gift cards because they want self-care experiences and don’t need more stuff.
Let us know your thoughts in the comments and whether you prefer a gift card or an actual gift for the holidays!
