Alexis Waters Opens Up About Meeting Husband Tyler Before Going on ‘Bachelor in Paradise’

Bachelor Nation fans first met Alexis Waters on Season 21 of “The Bachelor” and she returned for Season 4 of “Bachelor in Paradise.”
Since her time on the Bachelor Nation shows, Alexis found love off-screen with her longtime partner Tyler Fernandez.
The two began dating in 2018, and in March 2023, Tyler proposed to Alexis!
The couple are now officially married, as they tied the knot in a Las Vegas ceremony earlier this year.
And this week, Alexis revealed in a podcast that she actually first met Tyler before “Bachelor in Paradise.”
During her interview, she revealed, “I met Tyler right before I went on ‘Bachelor in Paradise.’”
The Bachelor Nation star revealed there was a connection between them, but she wanted to go on the show.
“I already was going on,” she said. “I just turned 23, I met Tyler, I was like, ‘If I really like this guy… what if I miss the show and then break up with this guy two weeks later?’”
Alexis then revealed that part of filming got shut down and she took it as a sign to pursue things with Tyler.
“All my friends were going on… so I was like, ‘You know what? I’m gonna go. And then it got shut down,” she revealed. “We got shut down in Mexico, out of all the seasons, like, that season. And I’m like ‘Oh, my God, maybe God is telling me to go back to Tyler.’ I don’t know, maybe I’m crazy, but what are the odds?”
Alexis also confirmed that while she was on the show, she didn’t really connect with any of the guys romantically, which confirmed her pursuit for Tyler afterwards.
“I liked all the guys as friends but as a Jersey girl… I just couldn’t,” she said.
We’ve loved being able to follow Alexis’ love story over the years and we are so happy for her and Tyler!
