Kaitlyn Bristowe Shares Heartbreaking Update on Her Dog Pinot: ‘I’m a Mess’

Bachelor Nation fans got to know and love Kaitlyn Bristowe on Season 19 of “The Bachelor” and Season 11 of “The Bachelorette.”
She famously got engaged to Jason Tartick in May 2021, and they welcomed two dogs into their lives — golden retrievers Ramen and Pinot.
The two ultimately ended their engagement and went their separate ways, but had planned on still co-parenting their dogs.
Now, Kaitlyn has taken to Instagram to share a heartbreaking update about their dog Pinot.
In a new post, she wrote, “Got some really sad news at the vet cardiologist today. We thought Pinot maybe just had a big heart because he’s so sweet. But it turns out my baby has heart disease. I’m a mess.”
Kaitlyn went on, sharing, “He’s the sweetest dog I’ve ever met and he is also my daily weighted blanket. I of course l, did NOT handle the news well and basically had a panic attack in the office. (Tried to stay calm and neutral when Pinot was in the room because energy transfers). I feel like they always tell you worst case scenarios. And say things like 'this happens to Golden’s'. 💔I am now waiting to see if it’s genetic or something we can treat. Either way they did not give great news.”
Kaitlyn then revealed the course of action she’s currently planning on taking for Pinot’s treatments.
She said, “I will be doing everything from medicine, to acupuncture, to supplements, and I’m not sure how to love more but, extra love. I have worked so hard on my coping skills when it comes to bad things happening, but between [my] step dad and dog, my heart feels sad. Don’t you worry, I’m gonna do whatever it takes for this potato head.”
Followers and loved ones filled the comments with their love for Kaitlyn and Pinot, including fellow Bachelor Nation star Becca Tilley who wrote, “Nooo!!! Sending prayers and good news from vets and remedies! You’re the best dog mom!!! ❤️”
JoJo Fletcher also added, “Ugh Kait I’m so sorry… my heart aches seeing this! Praying for positive updates and progress🙏🙏.”
