Melina Nasab Details Traumatic Horse Riding Accident That Sent Her to the ER
Sending love.
Bachelor Nation fans got to know Melina Nasab as she looked for love on Season 26 of “The Bachelor.”
Since her time on the show, Melina hard-launched her relationship with tech executive Max Keefe in late 2022 and the two officially tied the knot earlier this summer.
Melina is also known as a highly skilled equestrian and often posts about competing with her horse Ruby.
This week, the Bachelor Nation alum took to her Instagram Story to detail a recent, traumatic accident that sent her to the ER.
In a series of posts, Melina shared, “It was a beautiful dandy day until…I ended up in the ER 😭 didn’t have this one on my bingo card.”
The posts show photos of Melina riding her horse and then lying in a hospital bed with a neck brace and cuts on her face.
She then shared more details about what happened, and said, “Oh my god, so scary and traumatic. I have never been in that situation. I’ve fallen off of my horse many times, I’ve fallen off many times in my lifetime. Never fallen off of Ruby.”
Melina goes on to explain that she and Ruby were practicing one of their jumps when something went amiss and they both ended up falling.
“We fell and I had no recollection of what happened until maybe an hour later when I got to the hospital,” she said. “I was unconscious for a while on the floor and the whole barn family was huddled around me calling my parents and Max, and I was taken on a stretcher into the ambulance. I still thought I was dreaming… Apparently I flew up in the air, landed flat on my back, and Ruby is okay thank God. The vets were there, so he just has some scratches on his knees but he’s sound and okay.”
Melina then gave an update on how she’s doing and revealed that overall she’s okay.
She shared, “CT scan came back, thank God, no broken bones. Just a little bit of a beat up face, stitches in my lip and some bruising on my face. And MRI came back as well… just some bulging discs in my neck. Thank God we will live to see another day and Ruby is okay.”
How scary! We’re so glad Melina and her horse Ruby are okay and we’re sending best wishes for a speedy recovery.
