Michael Allio Reveals He's 60 Days Sober and Why He Stopped Drinking: 'I Don’t Miss It'
Getting candid.
Bachelor Nation got to know Michael Allio on Season 17 of “The Bachelorette” and again on Season 8 of “Bachelor in Paradise.”
Since his time on the shows, Michael has kept fans updated on his life through social media.
This week, he took to Instagram to share that he is 60 days sober and opened up about why he decided to make the change.
Michael wrote, “Sixty days since my last drink. I didn’t mark it on a calendar. I just started paying attention.”
He reflected on what has shifted for him since he stopped drinking, saying, “What I’ve noticed is simple but profound: clearer mornings, deeper rest, quieter thoughts. I feel present in my body again. Present in my life. The noise I thought I needed to turn down… turns out I could handle it better without it.”
The Bachelor Nation star also shared how he’s been coping with sobriety and whether he plans to stay sober long term.
He said, “I don’t miss it. Not the fog. Not the false unwind. Not the version of myself that needed a glass to soften the edges of the day. I don’t know how long this season will last… and I’m okay with that. There’s no finish line here. Just curiosity. Just choosing what feels good, honest, and sustainable right now.”
Michael added that, for now, this decision feels “really good,” and we couldn’t be happier for him.
We’re sending him lots of love and support during this time, and we know his openness will help others.
