Hannah Ann Opens Up About Postpartum Mental Health and Navigating Motherhood Without Childcare: 'Just Me'
Opening up.
Bachelor Nation got to know and love Hannah Ann Sluss as she looked for love on Season 24 of “The Bachelor.”
Since her time on the show, Hannah found love with professional football player Jake Funk, and the two tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in the Italian countryside in 2024.
Earlier last year, the two announced the exciting news that they are expecting their first child together.
And in November 2025, Hannah revealed their baby boy Lucas James Funk had finally arrived!
Now, the new mom has taken to social media to share more about her postpartum experience.
While answering fan questions on her Instagram Story, Hannah revealed that she’s currently navigating motherhood without childcare.
She said, “I’m getting asked what kind of help we have. And to answer that, we don’t have a nanny and we don’t have family that live close by. So… just me.”
Hannah also opened up about postpartum mental health and how she tries to keep hers in a “positive and healthy state.”
While holding Lucas, she said, “There are definitely tough moments, but I remind myself staying positive and thankful is a choice. Having a circle of like-minded mom friends to lean on has helped so much. I feel so blessed to have the greatest friends that are in all different stages of motherhood!”
Hannah then expanded and explained, “Like, for me, I’ll never use my platform to complain about being pregnant, being a mom, or my child because I know how fortunate and lucky I am to have the opportunity to be a mom. So, I think just having a strong mindset and being positive if not only for yourself but for your child because you did choose to be a mom.”
She continued, “I would say my biggest tip would be to know that postpartum is a roller coaster. You're going to have ups and downs. But just know that in those tough, hard moments, they're typically followed by a moment that's going to be easier.”
We always appreciate hearing from Hannah, and we love seeing her thrive as a mom. We’re sending all our love and congratulations again to the new parents!
