Krystal Nielson Reflects on Bouncing Back from Feeling ‘Lost and Defeated’
Hindsight is 20/20, and Krystal Nielson is reflecting on a difficult time in her life with the ultimate positive outlook.
On Tuesday, the life and fitness coach opened up about moving to California seven years ago and how she faced a series of uphill personal battles. Krystal’s photo showed her standing in the middle of a vineyard in Napa, California, on a perfectly sunny day. She wrote, “Today is my 7 year anniversary of moving to California! I moved to LA back in 2012 because I had a dream to work as an On-Air Correspondent at @enews like my idol at the time @giulianarancic.”
She explained that she met an executive “while waitressing who helped me lock down an interview” at E! News, but she “didn’t get the job.”
Krystal didn’t let that experience deter her from pursuing her dreams. She continued, “A few months later, I met a friend of my friend’s Aunt at a fundraiser and she helped me to the final round of the NBC Page program... but I wasn’t chosen... So I got a job as a waitress... only for it to declare bankruptcy 6 months later and shut down due to fraudulent activity, bounced checks and management stealing tips from us servers.”

She said she was “depressed. Completely broke. Lost and defeated.” Once again, she kept her head high and focused on her goals. She wrote, “I told myself that even if I had to sleep in my car I wouldn’t give up because deep in my heart I KNEW that I could make it. And I did.”
Yes, she did!
Krystal revealed that she knew her “life wouldn’t be as SPEC-F—KIN-TACULAR as it is had I NOT faced defeat and rejection.” Those harder times that brought her down “made me fight HARDER for the life I knew I deserved.”
She offered as final words of encouragement, “So, if you’re facing a challenge on the journey to your dreams remember this... “KEEP GOING, YOU’RE GONNA MAKE IT AND IT’S GOING TO BE BETTER THAN YOU EVER IMAGINED.”
Krystal is thriving in her personal and professional life. She married Chris Randone, whom she met on Season 5 of “Bachelor in Paradise,” on June 16 in Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico. They’re happily living in San Diego with Krystal’s two dogs Wayne and Chucky, and they’re hoping to add kids to the mix soon.
