Peter Weber Reveals His 'Biggest Fear' As the New Bachelor
Peter Weber may be all smiles, but underneath that charming grin, he felt some major nerves on that first night of “The Bachelor.”
As he stood in the Bachelor Mansion driveway waiting to meet the 30 women hoping to win his affection, Peter had some worries. He discussed his new role handing out roses with Rachel Lindsay and her (official) co-host Becca Kufrin on a new episode of “Bachelor Happy Hour.”
Becca and Rachel sympathize with what Peter went through and all the peaks and valleys that come with it. He told the podcast hosts, “It was honestly the two most amazing, insane, hardest months of my life, but I’m so happy I did it.”
Rachel asked the pilot about his “biggest fear” in starting the entire process. Peter explained he was “overflowing with excitement” and felt “extremely humbled” when offered the gig. He shared, “I had all these expectations of how it was going to go and what it was going to be like and if it would work. I always knew it would work, but my biggest fear about it was falling for someone that, for whatever reason, wasn’t into it for that same reason or didn’t fall for me as strongly as I fell for them.”
As viewers saw on Hannah Brown’s season of “The Bachelorette,” Peter put his whole heart on the line in their relationship, and he hoped to do the same this time around. He continued, “When I decided to do this, I was going to give everything to it. I remember that first night with all the ladies and that first toast, I told them, ‘I know this works. You have to believe me. I finished a journey that didn’t work out for me, but I believe in this.’ My biggest fear is that I ended up with someone who didn’t believe in that.”
Another worry revolved around the Bachelor Nation rallying cry of being there for “the right reasons.” Becca mentioned, “Some people are there for the right reasons, but some aren’t and you don’t know who they are.”
Peter replied, “That’s a very real fear. When the season went on, stuff inevitably comes up and people start talking about certain people, but one thing that I didn’t necessarily realize was going to be so hard on this side of it is you’re not in the house. You’re not with them every day when the cameras are rolling. You only see that person when they’re putting their best foot forward and telling you what you want to hear.”
He said later in the episode, “I definitely had a fear of letting go of someone that first night I really could’ve clicked with and it could’ve been fireworks with. First impressions are huge, but you only really get 10, 15 minutes with them to get sold on that person in that quick bit of time. That was a fear leaving that first night hoping, ‘Shoot, I hope I didn’t let anyone go it could’ve worked out with.’”
However, in the end, Peter has no regrets about his choices on that first night. “I felt good about my decisions,” he said.
Both in this episode of “Bachelor Happy Hour” and in other interviews and social media posts, Peter expresses complete gratitude for the opportunity to be this season’s Bachelor. On Monday morning, the 28-year-old wrote about “the most amazing opportunity” in a heartfelt Instagram post.
He wrote, “It’s impossible for me to express how thankful I am for having the most amazing opportunity to find my girl. To every single woman that shows up tonight, thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking a chance on me. Through every high and every low, I had the time of my life getting to know you all and made memories I will cherish forever.”

Peter continued, “Thank you for being patient with me when I needed it, your grace never went unnoticed. To everyone involved in playing a part to make all of this come together, thank you. You all know who you are and we’re family for life. To Bachelor Nation, you all have been absolutely amazing. I have felt the love non stop and it means so much that you have invested in me finding what I’m after. I hope you all enjoy the flight, we’re cleared for takeoff ✈️ #TheBachelor”
