Astrid Loch Is 'Feeling Extra Thankful' for Kevin Wendt
Thanksgiving may be a month away (except if you’re Canadian — that was October 14), but it’s never too early to start giving thanks to those you love. Astrid Loch is doing exactly that.
The 28-year-old shared a beautiful photo on Instagram of herself wrapped in a warm embrace with her fiancé Kevin Wendt. She captioned the picture, “Feeling extra thankful to have this man in my life lately. How you’re constantly so patient and loving (even when I throw temper tantrums) is beyond me.”
She then quipped, “Now if you could just stop leaving your socks all around the house.”

On Thursday, she posted another photo of the two of them looking out at the Toronto skyline. She captioned it “h o m e.”
Kevin, too, has posted on social media about feeling thankful for Astrid. On Canadian Thanksgiving, he wrote, “Canadian Thanksgiving. I am lucky and blessed in so many ways. Turkey is in the oven, new @samhuntmusic on, but nothing better than spending the holiday at home with this incredible human. Cheers to a lifetime of Canadian and American thanksgiving meals with ya fiancé.”
Astrid and Kevin announced their engagement on September 3, though he popped the big question on August 28.

The 28-year-old said about the proposal, “I could have sworn the world stood still in this moment. A moment I’ll never forget. Just you + me. @kevin.c.wendt you’ve taught me to love, learn and grow and I can’t believe you’ve chosen me to spend this crazy life with. Wonder if I’ll ever stop smiling? Probably not. In this together, forever.”
The “Bachelor in Paradise” couple called in to an episode of “Bachelor Happy Hour” recently and talked to Rachel Lindsay and guest co-host Demi Burnett about Kevin’s proposal plans. He was apparently in a time crunch, because Astrid “was leaving for Tampa on Thursday and it was pouring rain on Tuesday.” Wednesday it was!
His plan was to trick Astrid into thinking they were moseying over to Toronto Island for a picnic and to shoot some Instagram ads. The weather cleared up just in time for Kevin’s photographers to hide in the bushes. He told Rachel and Demi he “could see the moment where I went from ‘Stand here for the ad’ to speaking my heart to her and seeing her face go ‘holy f—king s—t, this is happening.’” The incognito photographers “luckily” snapped the proposal. Astrid called it a “crazy, surreal moment.”
Kevin designed the engagement ring himself. He wanted to surprise her and had to “go off of Astrid’s little comments about other people’s rings to figure out what she might like.”
The firefighter clearly knows what his fiancée likes. Astrid said, “If I designed a ring myself, it would have been this exact ring.”
