Why You Shouldn't Miss Out on 'The Bachelorette Australia'
It’s been a few months since “The Bachelorette” and “Bachelor in Paradise” ended, and we have a few more to go until Peter Weber’s season of “The Bachelor” begins. In the interim, there’s a perfect remedy for Bachelor Nation fans going through withdrawal: “The Bachelorette Australia.”
“The Bachelor Australia” ended about a month ago, with astrophysicist Matt Agnew finding his happily ever after with Chelsie McLeod — though it didn’t come without a few bumps in the road.
Now, 29-year-old Angie Kent has stepped up to be the Australian Bachelorette. Just like on the American version, this Bachelorette is totally relatable.
Though Angie never appeared on “The Bachelor Australia,” she has reality television experience and is an expert in all things “Bachelor”-related. Angie and her best friend Yvie Jones were a central part of the country’s popular reality show “Gogglebox Australia,” where they offered commentary on “The Bachelorette” and “The Bachelor” from the comfort of their couch as their foster dogs roamed around. Angie definitely seems like someone you’d want at your “Bachelor” and “Bachelorette” watch parties!
During her intro video, Angie and Yvie discuss her future on “The Bachelorette” — comfy couch and at least four dogs in the frame included. Angie says, “Now people can sit on their couch and throw shade at me. I probably deserve it, to be fair.” She adds, “I feel like over the last few years I’ve probably prioritized dogs over dudes.”
She also intersperses her deep commentary with self-deprecating comments that make you laugh with her, not at her.
Angie shares, “I’m definitely ready to fall in love. Ooooh, I feel so weird saying that because I’ve definitely been this ball-buster that’s always been like, ‘Meh, love’ for so long.’”
At another point in the video, she boxes with her brother, Brad, a personal trainer, and explains he was “really protective” of her, adding that he has been “trying to get me nice and fit to be the Bachelorette.” She jiggles her arm and jokes, “There’s still a little bit. They’re getting there.”
Angie also discusses the importance of listening to her heart and trusting her gut. She says, “Sure, I’m a jokester and like to have fun, but I’m going to give this my all.” She points to her head and says, “My problem for so long is that I get stuck in this guy.” Then, pointing to her lower extremities, she quips, “Or I think with this guy.” She concludes as she points to her heart, “So tonight I definitely need to use more of this guy.”

Like every season of “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette,” there was a slew of over-the-top entrances. Long-haired Timm was the first out of the limo, and he made quite the first impression. He flipped his hair back and retrieved what must have been at least two dozen sunflowers from the limo, telling the camera, “I’m bringing Angie some sunflowers — just keeping it simple. Hopefully it makes her smile.”
Sunflowers happen to be Angie’s absolute favorite, and Timm said he loves them, too, and he always wears them “in my hair.”

Another memorable entrance involved more of Angie’s favorite things — dogs. Jamie the firefighter strutted down the red carpet in his uniform — holding a puppy! Angie could barely contain her excitement and cheered, “You’ve got muscles and you’ve got a dog!” While Jamie shared why he thinks he and Angie will be a great pair, she snuggled the puppy in her arms, hardly hearing a word he said. She joked, “I can’t think of anything else when dogs are around. That’s probably why I’m single.”
Angie’s season of “The Bachelorette” offers a hefty mix of hilarious, poignant, and dramatic moments. Ciarran Stott, who was clearly a front-runner, had to leave the show early because his grandma passed away. In one of his earlier moments, he stripped down to his birthday suit for an art-themed date… so, that happened.
Other memorable moments included a date with a love expert and an intense dinner that required the remaining six men to answer questions they would’ve rather left in the past. Angie stayed strong through it all and is now down to her final three men: Timm, Carlin and Ryan.
