Krystal Nielson Says 'Don't Regret Your Decisions' in Heartfelt Post
Krystal Nielson took a trip down memory lane to reflect on an especially pivotal moment in her life.
In an Instagram post on Wednesday, Krystal wrote about moving away from her hometown of Missoula, Montana, and what she learned after leaving. Although she had plans to live abroad in Sydney, Australia, for a year with her sister, she explained “life brought us to Boise, Idaho” instead.
She revealed, “That may seem like an odd choice, so to be transparent, it was to get to know my Dad who hadn’t been a part of my life since I was 6 years old. More than anything I craved protection, safety and certainty growing up and so reuniting with my dad was an important step for me.”

Krystal then took a hypothetical approach to everything she’s been through in the 14 years since. “I look back now and see how my life has unfolded over the past 14 years and wonder WHAT IF I MADE A DIFFERENT CHOICE,” she wrote. “What if I chose Sydney and never met my family or had the experiences and growth that Boise gifted me with?”
She named a few different jobs she’s had over time, including working in television, video production, and hosting. Krystal inquired, “Would I ever have had the desire and fire to move to LA to pursue Entertainment Television? This dream that brought me into the Health and Fitness world which saved me from depression and very unhealthy habits?”
Despite looking back on her time on “The Bachelor” as “the DARKEST, MOST BRUTAL 6 months of my life,” she ultimately focused on “expressing my light and going for my dreams despite what people said or thought about me.”
She wrote towards the end of her post, “Not to mention met my husband!! Ya know, I have to wonder... Would I EVEN BE WHO I AM TODAY had ONE CHOICE been different?? Don’t regret your decisions because you may not yet realize where they are taking you.”

In November, Krystal wrote another heartfelt post about moving to California seven years ago and the challenges she faced in the process. Her aspirations, such as becoming an entertainment correspondent, didn’t turn out as planned, and it didn’t improve when she became a waitress — only to have the restaurant shut down months later due to “fraudulent activity.” Krystal described herself as “depressed. Completely broke. Lost and defeated” during that time.
Krystal still maintained a positive outlook about her life in Los Angeles. She said, “I told myself that even if I had to sleep in my car I wouldn’t give up because deep in my heart I KNEW that I could make it. And I did.”
Yes she did!
Krystal married her “Bachelor in Paradise” beau Chris Randone on June 16, 2019, in Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico. She said in August during a “Bachelor Happy Hour” interview, “For the first time in my life, I really feel safe. I didn’t experience that a lot growing up being with a single mom. It’s so great to have a strong man.”
