You Won’t Believe How Many Suitcases the 'Bachelor' Stylist & Makeup Artist Travel With
Feel overwhelmed about packing a carry-on bag for your spring break vacation? Just imagine what it’s like packing for "The Bachelor" and "The Bachelorette"!
Cary Fetman and Gina Modica, the shows’ stylist and makeup artist, respectively, discussed packing and traveling with outfits throughout the season on the second part of their "Bachelor Happy Hour" interview.
According to Cary, the number of suitcases his team travels with each season "can go up to 16 or 17." However, there has been one Bachelor and one Bachelorette "who seem to have broken the record," though they didn't reveal who.
He joked on the podcast, "It always seems to be the biggest fight I have with my assistant when I say, 'Order this many suitcases,' and she says, 'There’s no reason for that.' I just look at her and say, 'Just do it.'"

They also must prepare for unforeseen circumstances, including bad weather, weight gain, weight loss, and more.
Cary said, "Like everything, there are so many different things, [like] a day where we thought it would be sunny and beautiful. It’s not. It’s pouring rain or it turned cold. Or we weren’t expecting cold, and all of a sudden, it’s freezing."
Rachel asked what they do when bodies change over the course of the season. "We all get fitted in L.A., but then as time goes on, you’re eating when you can. You might be drinking. We’re stress eating," she said. "How do you do the fittings, especially when it comes to that finale dress?"
Cary replied, "You have your contingency plans, and you hope that the people you’re working with also understand things change. Give us a few minutes to fix it, and we probably can. If not, OK."
Finales typically occur in far-flung locations, from Norway to Fiji and Thailand to Australia. Oftentimes, because the finale is in a remote place, major alterations might be out of the question.

Cary explained, "On the last day, we’re in a country like Bora Bora on an island where there’s nothing close to a thing called a tailor. We’ve just learned to do things. Things break, things rip. You just learn how to deal."
Working with the show’s style team goes beyond just the season itself. Cary said he and the Bachelor or Bachelorette begin working together about a month before filming begins. Then, there’s all the press before, during, and after the season.
"I estimate that it’s about 163 different outfits," he told Becca and Rachel.
