Rachel Lindsay Gets Real About Her Move to L.A. and Bicoastal Relationship with Bryan Abasolo
In case anyone was wondering, Rachel Lindsay and Bryan Abasolo are doing just fine.
Rachel and her "Bachelor Happy Hour" co-host Becca Kufrin both moved to Los Angeles recently, and the two women opened up on a new episode of the podcast about their respective decisions to do so.
Rachel explained how she first felt connected to Los Angeles when she visited the city for her best friend’s baby shower right before a "Bachelor" audition. She said, "I remember being there and was like, 'Gosh, I can’t describe the feeling that I have here, but it’s such a vibe. I feel very connected to this city, and I’ll be back here at some point.'"
The Season 13 Bachelorette created a plan to move to L.A., take the California bar exam, and then begin her career as a lawyer. As Rachel puts it, "Then 'Bachelor' happened."
She said she and her now-husband Bryan Abasolo discussed staying in L.A. after her season of "The Bachelorette" finished filming.
Rachel said, "We actually looked at property here three years ago right when we finished the show. It just didn’t work out because I’m very 'Everything has to be put together and everything has to be perfect.' I’m very type A, and I thought, 'I can’t come out to L.A. unless it makes financial sense for me to be out there.'"
That time arrived recently.
Rachel explained, "An opportunity came about where it afforded me the chance to be out in L.A. Then COVID happened. I ended up still getting a place out here. Then 'Extra' happened. I thought I was still going to be doing special correspondent work, and then they offered me a full-time position."
The "Extra" offer worked out because Rachel "already had a place out here because I was going to go back and forth."
Bryan offered total support for her decision to move from Miami.
She shared on the podcast, "Thankfully, I have the support of Bryan who was like, 'Go. This is what you’ve been working for the last few years.' We were just like, 'OK. We are going to put pen to paper, write a plan out for ourselves.'"

Rachel affirmed to her followers and critics alike that she and Bryan "have a plan" and "have goals."
"It’s not anybody else’s timeline," she said.
She added, "It’s not ideal, but it’s not abnormal that sometimes you have to do a bicoastal thing as long as you have a strong foundation and are committed to each other and have a plan. This is definitely not how we want to live forever."
Rachel understands that people want to stay up-to-date on her life, but she said they’re "not going to tell you everything."
She expressed, "What’s important for people to understand is that I’m not chasing something. I’m trying to build something for our family that we’re trying to create. That’s all people really need to know."
While Rachel planned her move to the City of Angels for a long time, Becca’s change of scenery was a "last-minute decision."
Becca revealed, "It actually happened because I was FaceTiming with a friend and she was just like, 'Move to L.A. Just do it. It’s calling your name. You don’t have anything holding you back right now.' That night, I got off the phone with her, I found a furnished apartment and signed a lease that night. Didn’t tell anyone."
Now that she’s there, Becca can’t see her life any other way.
"I think it’s the best decision I’ve ever made," she gushed. "Other than getting Minno. It’s the second-best decision I’ve ever made."
