Trista Sutter Reveals What Mementos She Kept from 'The Bachelor' & 'Bachelorette'
One person's rose is another person's treasure!
As Trista Sutter waited for her son Maxwell to finish up at the skate park before hockey practice on Monday, she took to her Instagram Stories and answered several questions about her time as the Bachelorette and what her life is like now.
One fan asked, "Do you have any souvenirs from your Bachelor/Bachelorette days? Besides Ryan" and added a laughing crying emoji.
Trista responded, "Oh, I sure do have souvenirs."
The inaugural Bachelorette listed some personal mementos she kept from Alex Michel's season of "The Bachelor" as well as her season of "The Bachelorette." Trista listed, "We’ve got the final rose that I gave to Ryan. I like to keep sentimental stuff. I’m a really sentimental person. I have my first Rose Ceremony dress. I also have all of his poems."
Ryan frequently composed poems to Trista, including on the first night of the show.
She continued listing her souvenirs, "I have a couple of the date boxes that we got on 'The Bachelor.' I have my wedding dress and the dress that I got engaged in. I have lots of fan mail."
Trista explained she has "so much stuff" because she's "super sentimental."
In July, Trista joined Rachel Lindsay and Becca Kufrin on "Bachelor Happy Hour" and delved into some of the major differences between Season 1 of "The Bachelorette" to now. The "date boxes" refer to tapes the men received in order to find out what their date would be. It was the original date card!
She also said she feels very "protective" of the franchise because it holds such a large part of her identity and life.
"The show is part of me. It’s my history. It’s the reason that I have my family," Trista said.
She continued, "I definitely get offended, and a lot of the times, I try to be real and speak my mind, but at the same time, I feel like all of you are my little babies. I’m protective not only over the show and treating the show right and being invested and being there for truly the right reasons — for the love."
