Tayshia Says She Truly Felt Like the 'Love of My Life Was in the Room' Night 1
When it comes to love, Tayshia Adams isn't going to say something merely for the sake of saying it.
On her first night as the new Bachelorette, Tayshia met the 16 remaining men as well as four new arrivals. Clare Crawley met the love of her life on her debut evening, and Tayshia felt things were looking up for her, too.
Tayshia spoke with Rachel Lindsay and Becca Kufrin on a "Click Bait with Bachelor Nation" and "Bachelor Happy Hour" crossover podcast episode about her first few days as the new Bachelorette. During her cocktail party, Tayshia told the guys she felt like the "love of my life is in the room," and Rachel asked if she really meant it or if she felt like she had to "err on the side of caution."
Tayshia explained she was telling the truth, adding, "I’m not kidding when I say the conversations exceeded my expectations by so much. We had really good conversations. I was allowed to have more time with the men because there wasn’t as many but also because it was important for me to get to know the guys."
She emphasized the importance of her one-on-one dialogues with the men, and not having a Rose Ceremony allowed her to "talk to them without feeling like there was going to be pressure."
Tayshia said, "Having those conversations, my heart was in the right place and their hearts were in the right place. It felt so different. That’s the other part people don’t realize: You go on this show with your heart open to finding love. It’s different than going out to a bar and meeting a guy. Being in this situation, you’re already more vulnerable than normal."
She added, "They were so there. It was like nothing I’ve ever experienced. I did feel like the love of my life was in the room. I wasn’t going to say it if I didn’t believe it."
Tayshia seemed to have caught feelings for a few of the men early on. She invited Brendan on her first one-on-one date, and the two went horseback riding and ended the evening with a deeply personal conversation about their past marriages.
She said of Brendan, "We had a long discussion about being married and being divorced. It was the first time I had a conversation with a man that I feel could truly relate to me and understood where my heart and my head have been."
