Bachelor Nation Couple Carly Waddell & Evan Bass Are Separating After 3 Years of Marriage
Carly Waddell and Evan Bass announced on Wednesday that they are splitting following three years of marriage.
“We have made the difficult decision to separate,” the beloved Bachelor Nation couple wrote in a joint statement. “We will always cherish our time together and continue to have the utmost respect for one another as we focus on what’s best for the future of our family.”
Carly and Evan added, “We greatly appreciate everyone’s love and support and kindly ask that you please respect our family’s privacy as we navigate through this.”
The Nashville, Tennessee-based pair met on Season 3 of “Bachelor in Paradise” and continued an on-again, off-again relationship over the course of the season. As viewers may recall, Evan took a quick liking to Carly, who did not immediately reciprocate his feelings.
After one date, Carly told him she’d like to remain friends, but still gave him a “platonic rose” at the next Rose Ceremony. Evan then plotted a way to capture Carly’s heart — which resulted in him memorably faking an injury for which he was eventually sent to the hospital to receive medical attention. Carly accompanied Evan and, as he “recuperated,” the singer finally fell for the erectile dysfunction specialist.
They got engaged at the end of their season and returned Season 4 to have Chris Harrison officiate their wedding, which took place June 17, 2017. Carly and Evan tied the knot in Sayulita, Mexico, in front of family, friends, and “Bachelor in Paradise” cast members. They went on to have two children: daughter Bella, 2, and son Charles, 13 months.
