Keeping it 100! Desiree Siegfried headed to Instagram on Wednesday to let fans know that she received the greatest holiday gift of all: alone time.
In a humorous video post, the former Bachelorette is seen sitting by herself inside of her wedding dress design studio as the Christmas classic “Do You Hear What I Hear?” plays.
“Do you hear that?” words read on the screen before Desiree waves her arms in victory. “Peace & quite with no kids!”
In an accompanying caption, Desiree explained why it’s important for fellow moms to prioritize their mental health amid the challenges that come with caring for kids — especially during such a trying year as 2020, marked by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The past few months have been particularly strenuous for Desiree, who recently moved into a new home, which she has been busy renovating and redecorating with husband Chris Siegfried. The couple — who met and fell in love on Season 9 of “The Bachelorette” in 2013 — are parents to sons Asher, 4, and Zander, 23 months.

“Moms will understand,” she wrote. “In a season of transition with a move, work, kiddos at home and barely anytime to think I was able to make it to my studio today to work alone and even an hour is heaven sent.”
Desiree — who has said motherhood is “the best job I’ve ever been given” — also expressed her thoughts on the guilt that moms sometimes feel when they shift their focus away from family.
“P.S. just because you need a break as a momma doesn’t mean you love your kids any less,” she concluded. “They need a sound and rested momma as often as earthly possible! So go get your R&R on or whatever makes you happy to recharge. And have a very merry Christmas while you’re at it!”
