Tayshia Adams Opens Up About Settling Into NYC Pad with Zac Clark: 'It's So Surreal'
Following their engagement on last week’s finale of “The Bachelorette” Season 16, Tayshia Adams is quickly settling into fiancé Zac Clark’s New York City apartment.
After spending their first Christmas together in the Big Apple, Tayshia — who recently relocated from her home state of California — updated Bachelor Nation about how she is acclimating to city life with Zac.
“I feel like I have not been on here in so freaking long and I kind of forgot about Instagram for a hot minute, which is so funny,” she said in a series of Instagram Story videos, shared on Tuesday.
Tayshia expressed relief over the fact that she no longer has to keep her relationship with Zac under wraps. “I have just been so excited just to live life and not go a hundred miles an hour [and] live a double life and be in secret,” she said. “I’ve been so distracted just being in the same house as Zac, which is so bizarre to me.”
The “Click Bait with Bachelor Nation” co-host — who will welcome Zac onto Thursday’s installment of her podcast with Joe Amabile and Natasha Parker — went on to explain how she and her man kept their romance alive from opposite coasts.
“For the longest time, we would do FaceTime for hours on end. The time difference and our schedules were just so off that as soon as it hit 6 o’clock over there [in California] and 9 o’clock here [in New York], we’d just be on the phone for three or four hours,” she said. “That was when we had to catch up. It’s so surreal that we can just be out in the open.”
Zac then entered the frame to say hi to Tayshia’s followers. Clearly thrilled to see the handsome addiction specialist, who “just came out of his office,” Tayshia jokingly pushed him away before engaging him in the conversation.
“New York is good. I haven’t hailed a taxi quite yet. When will we do that?” she asked Zac, who responded, “Tonight. Taxi!”
“No, I’m not going in a taxi tonight,” she said with a laugh. “Maybe next week or something like that.”
Later, Tayshia admitted that she can’t wait to “spruce up” Zac’s place with new furniture. “It’s definitely a bachelor pad here,” she said. “So, we’ve got to change that up real quick.”
The pair also asked fans for board game recommendations. “You know what we could use some advice on? We need some more games, because I kick his butt at Rummikub,” Tayshia said. “He’s good at Skip-Bo. I’m the queen of Yahtzee. What else should we be playing?”
Before signing off, Tayshia said that she and Zac are adapting well to their new life as an engaged couple. “Would you say we’re doing good?” she asked Zac, who wholeheartedly agreed. “Better than good. Great!” he said.
Tayshia replied, “Aw, I love that.”
We love that, too!
