Arie Luyendyk Jr. & Lauren Burnham Foster a Pregnant Yorkie, Unexpectedly Deliver 5 Puppies
When Arie Luyendyk Jr. and Lauren Burnham decided to foster a pregnant Yorkie, they never imagined they would be delivering her puppies mere moments after bringing her home.
In a new YouTube video shared this week, the beloved Bachelor Nation couple — who celebrated their second wedding anniversary on Tuesday — detail their experience watching their new canine friend become a mother.
“Today is a really exciting day. We are fostering a pregnant Yorkie. She’s 2 years old. The humane society texted us this morning and asked us if we wanted to take her in,” Lauren said at the start of the clip. “They think she’s going to have five puppies this month. And, of course, we said yes, so we’re going to go get her.”
Added Arie, “We’re thinking about actually having another dog in the house. We figured that fostering would be the easiest way to sort of see if it was a right fit for us.”
As fans may recall, Arie’s dog Bastian sadly passed away in December. “There’s just been this void in our house since he’s been gone,” Lauren said elsewhere in the video as she drove to a local humane society center near the pair’s home in Scottsdale, Arizona. “It’s sad and we miss him, but we just feel like we’re ready for another dog in our lives.”
However, the blonde beauty — who is currently pregnant and expecting twins — said that she and Arie don’t want to make a “long-term commitment” before their babies arrive this summer. (Arie and Lauren are already parents to daughter Alessi, 19 months.)
Not even 15 minutes after Lauren brought the unnamed dog into her family’s house, the expectant pooch started going into labor. “We just met, but we’ll make sure you’re OK,” Arie assured her.

Following a nap, Alessi emerged to check out what her mom and dad were up to. Upon seeing the dog, the adorable toddler exclaimed, “She’s so cute!”
It wasn’t long before the dog began giving birth. “This is the miracle of life,” Lauren told her daughter. “You’re getting to witness so much at a young age.”
Hours later, the dog welcomed a total of five puppies. See how it all went down below.
