Trista & Ryan Sutter Take a 'Deep Dive Down Memory Lane,' Remind Us That Love Is Real
Get ready to swoon, Bachelor Nation! Trista and Ryan Sutter headed over to Instagram on Thursday to recall precious moments throughout their 17-year marriage.
“Some days taking a deep dive down memory lane is a worthwhile use of time,” Trista wrote alongside a throwback shot of herself, Ryan, and their kids — son Maxwell, now 13, and Blakesley, now 11 — cuddled up together in a foam pit.
“Today was one of those days. And yesterday, and the day before and, and, and… I mean, look at those sweet faces (and their handsome daddy)!!” the original Bachelorette continued, also sharing the following hashtags: #tbt and #istbtstillathing.

Meanwhile, Ryan reminisced on more good times with Trista and their children with three posts of his own. “#Throwback to one of my very first Instagram posts and the first one of @tristasutter,” he captioned a screenshot of a 2012 Instagram photo showing his wife riding a bicycle along the beaches of Santa Barbara, California.
“Ironically also the last one of her on a bike,” the handsome firefighter jokingly added. “Time flies. #love #24likes #bikes.”

Next, Ryan posted a screenshot of a prior Instagram that captured his kids — much younger than they are today — sitting next to each other on the floor. “I hope these two stay friends for life,” the proud dad wrote in his original caption. In 2021, he wrote: “#Throwback to one of my all time favorites with my all time favorites. #kids #love.”

Trista and Ryan — who live in Vail, Colorado — tied the knot in a televised wedding ceremony in December 2003 after falling in love on Season 1 of “The Bachelorette.” The past year has brought them closer together than ever before as Trista has supported Ryan throughout a long and arduous battle with a mystery illness.
Last month, Ryan — who has repeatedly tested negative for COVID-19 but has been experiencing unexplained fatigue, muscle aches, fevers, and congestion, among other symptoms, for months on end — penned a sweet note on Instagram, thanking Trista for her help.
“My wife went on a mission, developing a medical strategy and path towards hopeful answers while at the same time leaving daily reminder notes to keep my spirits up,” he wrote at the time. “My family has rallied behind me, my friends have shown tremendous support and my colleagues a high degree of understanding and patience. For all of this I am grateful. My intent in sharing this is to make a single point… Resiliency is not a solo act.”
