Desiree Siegfried Reflects on the Joys of Motherhood: 'The Gift That Keeps on Giving'
Desiree Siegfried took to Instagram on Wednesday to reflect on the joys of motherhood in a humorous — yet very touching — post.
“Motherhood is the gift that keeps on giving,” she wrote alongside a photo of herself cuddled up with son Zander, 2, whom she shares with husband Chris Siegfried. The couple — who met and fell in love on Season 9 of “The Bachelorette” before tying the knot in January 2015 — also share son Asher, 4.
Desiree — who resides in Portland, Oregon, with her family — then listed the many ways her boys have changed her life: “Sleepless nights, wrinkles, grey hairs, worry, miles on the car, stains on clothes, spills to be cleaned, toys/misc on the [credit card]. Haha.”
Despite the challenges that come with being a parent, the beloved Bachelor Nation figure wouldn’t trade her role as mom for the world. As she explained, the “sweet snuggles, joy in my heart and memories to last a lifetime” make it worthwhile.
“Love them,” Desiree added of her little ones.

While she appreciates all that comes with raising her sons, the former franchise lead explained in a December Instagram post why it’s important for fellow moms to prioritize their mental health amid the difficulties that come with caring for kids — especially throughout this past year, which was made harder for some due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Just because you need a break as a momma doesn’t mean you love your kids any less,” she wrote at the time. “They need a sound and rested momma as often as earthly possible! So go get your R&R on or whatever makes you happy to recharge.”
