How Lesley Murphy Learned to 'Fully Appreciate' Her Role as a New Mom to Daughter Nora Blanche
Lesley Murphy opened up about being new mom to daughter Nora Blanche in a touching message shared via Instagram.
“There is constant talk about creating life, growing a human and laboring a child,” the “Bachelor” alum wrote alongside a series of stunning photos of herself posing with her sweet infant. “What isn’t so much discussed is birthing the mother inside of us. Grieving the old life while celebrating the new can coexist.”
Lesley — who welcomed Nora on February 12 with fiancé Alex Kavanagh — then revealed how parenthood has changed her.
“The metamorphosis of the soul is transformative in ways I never knew existed. The sheer exhaustion is greater than any international travel day,” she continued. “The heart-work is the most rewarding I’ve ever been a part of, even during the sleepless nights.”
Elsewhere, the blonde beauty explained that she “always knew it was impossible to adequately prepare” for the arrival of her daughter.
“I have to admit it scared me. Would I be good enough? What info should I trust? Will she even like me?! My inner critic was loud and still is,” she elaborated, noting that Wednesday was particularly challenging. “Today was rough and we all cried our way through it. There are more questions than answers these days, but then she looks at me with her big dark eyes and I know I’m her world right now and she is mine.”
Lesley went on to say that she couldn’t “fully appreciate” the role of motherhood until she became a mom herself.
“The selflessness and sacrifice and love run so deep,” she concluded. “Nothing but wonder and awe for everyone out there reading this who is a mother figure themselves. Not all heroes wear capes.”
Lesley announced her baby news with Alex in September. One month later, the couple relocated from Southern California to settle down in Lesley’s home state of Arkansas. The “Road Les Traveled” blogger and the hunky Australian DRONEGEAR founder got engaged on February 4, 2020.
