Sydney Lotuaco Reveals What She Would Tell Her Younger Self in Emotional Note
The “Something to Share” podcast host had, well, something to share.
Sydney Lotuaco penned an emotional letter dedicated to her younger self, which she posted via Instagram on Monday.
“What would you tell your younger self?” the Bachelor Nation alum asked her followers, accompanied by a set of stunning images from a recent photo shoot.
“These are mine!” she continued, starting with this token of wisdom: “Make mistakes (& learn from them) that’s where growth happens, that’s where you prove to yourself that you can overcome things and ultimately get stronger, and those are the moments you’ll look back on your life where you saw yourself grow the most and created shifts in your life.”
Sydney then explained why one should never be afraid to ask for help.
“We never have to do it all, if you’re looking to follow a certain career path or are looking for direction in your life then, ask for help!” the dancer and model wrote. “You’d be surprised at how willing people are to lend a hand. Ask someone to mentor you or research how they got to where they are so that you can see a way that’s possible for yourself.”
Sydney also touched on the power of listening to one’s intuition, developing a money-focused mindset, and practicing self-love. Elsewhere in her post, she emphasized how great rewards are sure to manifest if one is willing to take “BIG” chances.
“The biggest moments in my life have come from those I had no idea wtf I was doing or what’s going to happen next,” she noted. “Those leaps of faith that lead me into an even greater direction than I saw for myself. (But also be realistic because every moment can’t be these) it’s the moments when you know your life needs a shift when you feel stuck or need a change of direction.”
The 28-year-old certainly knows a thing or two about trusting the universe during unsettling times.
After competing for Colton Underwood’s heart on Season 23 of “The Bachelor” in 2019, Sydney appeared on Season 6 of “Bachelor in Paradise.” Though she didn’t find love within the franchise, the brunette beauty later starred as a dancer in the “Bachelor Live on Stage” show, which came to a screeching halt in the spring of 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Sydney — who had recently relocated to Los Angeles after years of living in New York City, where she attended college — soon found herself back in her hometown of Virginia Beach, Virginia, waiting for the health crisis to pass. It was during quarantine, however, that Sydney met her now-boyfriend, Nick Wehby, who impressed her with his wit and charm after sliding into her Instagram DMs.
Though Nick lived in Cincinnati, Ohio, it didn’t stop the pair from developing a strong romance. Months after managing a long-distance relationship, Sydney took one of her aforementioned “leaps of faith,” leaving her family on the East Coast to officially move in with Nick.
“Open your mind to how you can meet people,” she said of her connection with Nick during an August 2020 interview with the Cincinnati Enquirer. “Don’t put restraints on it because you never really know.”
