Bryan Abasolo Explains the Fun Way He & Wife Rachel Lindsay Learned About Each Other's Spending Habits
On the latest episode of “Talking It Out,” co-host Bryan Abasolo opened up about the fun way he and wife Rachel Lindsay learned about each other’s contrasting spending habits.
According to Bryan, it all came to light while playing his favorite childhood board game, Monopoly, with Rachel.
“Rachel and I play Monopoly. We purchased Monopoly and I had played that game so much when I was a kid, with my friends, and the way I learned to play, it kind of reflected how I am with money,” he said, explaining that he is willing to splurge more than Rachel.
“She was more frugal. She saved. She would pass on properties where I would have been like, ‘Wow, I would have bought that in a heartbeat,’” the Bachelor Nation podcast personality continued. “I buy everything. I buy everything and I actually beat her. I started making hotels, she started landing on my stuff, and she was like, ‘How did you beat me?’ She was trying to be so smart about it.”
He added, “I don’t know. For whatever reason, that strategy works on Monopoly, but maybe not so much in real life.”
Even though Bryan’s paycheck might burn a hole in his pocket faster than Rachel’s, both have established successful professional lives.
Based in Miami, Bryan is a licensed doctor of chiropractic in Florida and California, as well as a certified nutritionist and personal trainer. He is the founder and owner of the Miami Disc & Laser Therapy Center, where he helps people with debilitating neck and back pain improve their overall quality of life with non-surgical and drug-free treatments.
Meanwhile, Rachel resides in Los Angeles due to her job as an on-air host for “Extra.” The Season 13 Bachelorette also co-hosts her own Bachelor Nation podcast, “Bachelor Happy Hour,” with Becca Kufrin. Rachel has another podcast, “Higher Learning,” which she co-hosts alongside Van Lathan. Adding another title to her packed résumé, the former attorney recently launched a new career as a college speaker.
Bryan — who is “getting ready” to relocate from southern Florida to be with Rachel in L.A. — said that he is inspired by his spouse’s hustle.
“I feel that we’re going to be stronger together if both parties are grinding to get as much as they can, to build that empire. I’m all for that,” he said. “I’ve never even thought of ever telling Rachel, ‘Hey babe, calm down, I’ve got it.’ She would look at me sideways. I’m her biggest cheerleader. I want her to go out and get everything that is coming her way. I’m energized [by that]. I see her ambition and I’m motivated to do the same on my end. And then when we come together, it’s like there’s no stopping us.”
