Yes, Kendall Long Is Still Obsessed with 'Sustainably Sourced' Taxidermy: See Her Latest Find
Once a taxidermy enthusiast, always a taxidermy enthusiast!
Kendall Long took to Instagram on Wednesday to let fans know that she is still adding to her collection of stuffed wildlife. As viewers will recall, the stunning blonde made her passion for preserving animals’ bodies abundantly clear while competing for Arie Luyendyk Jr.’s heart on “The Bachelor” Season 22.
“The best treasures are always found second hand, at flea markets and thrift stores!” she captioned a photo of herself posing with her latest find. “I found this beautiful taxidermy goose at @longbeachantiquemarket for only $45!!”
Kendall went on to explain why it’s important for her to only collect “sustainably sourced” taxidermy.
“Nature is incredibly beautiful,” she wrote. “And I’m inspired every day by the artful mounts I’ve accumulated but that being said, I don’t believe any living creature should die for aesthetic gain.”
Added Kendall, “I’ve been enamored by taxidermy since a very young age and it continues to surprise me the more I read about different species and acquire new pieces.”
The franchise star spoke more in depth about her lifelong love affair with taxidermy during a 2019 interview with Yahoo! Lifestyle.
“I grew up in Santa Clarita, so not really far from Los Angeles, and I was always obsessed with nature. I guess collecting dead animals came along with that,” she said. “I just see taxidermy as the art of nature, so I feel like I’m collecting sculptures or paintings. It’s the exact same thing.”
