Astrid Loch Updates Bachelor Nation on Her Wedding Plans with Kevin Wendt
Astrid Loch updated Bachelor Nation on her wedding plans with fiancé Kevin Wendt during an appearance on “Bachelor Happy Hour” this week.
As fans are well aware, the Toronto-based couple fell in love on “Bachelor in Paradise” Season 5 and got engaged nearly one year later in August 2019. They had plans to get married on November 13, 2020, in Astrid’s native Florida, but they were forced to readjust due to COVID-19 and the deadly Tropical Storm Eta.
They rescheduled their ceremony for November 2021, but their nuptials are on hold again after Astrid announced on May 9 that she is pregnant and expecting her first child with Kevin after a long journey with in vitro fertilization (IVF).
“We postponed the wedding to November 19 of this year and I’m now due November 18,” Astrid told Becca Kufrin and guest co-host Catherine Lowe on “Bachelor Happy Hour.” “I don’t think I can give birth and get married within 24 hours!”
The expectant franchise star continued, “So, we’re postponing it again to October of 2022 because I feel like I need a whole year. I don’t know what it’s going to be like. This is my first baby. [Kevin’s] like, ‘We could get married in the spring.’ I’m like, ‘No, you don’t understand.’”
Astrid said that while Kevin is looking forward to bringing their little one everywhere, she is taking a more cautious approach to parenthood.
“Actually, I’m really scared about what’s going to happen with him because he doesn’t really fully understand what it’s like to have a baby,” she said with a laugh. “He’s talking about going to the Super Bowl with a newborn! I’m like, ‘It doesn’t really work like that.”
Astrid added, “They have to get their shots. They can’t just be out and about. People don’t even take their babies to the grocery store in the beginning! We have to just take it easy and not plan travels with a newborn.”
