Tayshia Adams Shares Behind-the-Scenes Scoop of Surprising Bachelorette Katie Thurston on Night 1
Tayshia Adams joined Becca Kufrin and guest Heather McDonald on this week’s episode of “Bachelor Happy Hour” to break down Monday night’s Season 17 premiere of “The Bachelorette.”
During the trio’s chat, Tayshia opened up about her experience acting as a mentor to Katie alongside fellow former Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe. As viewers witnessed, Tayshia and Kaitlyn surprised Katie before limo entrances commenced at New Mexico’s Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa, announcing their roles as co-hosts.
“It was just so fun,” Tayshia recounted. “[Kaitlyn] and I were both pretty nervous just because this is new territory for us, too. We’ve been in her shoes, but we haven’t been in the position that we’re in. But we could not wait to get there and help her out.”
The Season 16 Bachelorette added, “We were freaking out. And, in fact, I think we both almost peed our pants walking up to her because we were trying to be so quiet — because she had no idea that we were there. It was just so much fun surprising her and being able to really hold her hand throughout this entire journey.”
During a recent interview with BachelorNation.com, Katie reflected on the touching moment and expressed gratitude for the support she received from Kaitlyn and Tayshia.
“Reliving that moment right now even makes me a bit emotional,” the reigning franchise lead said. “I had no idea they were coming. So, when I saw not only one previous Bachelorette but two — and it was Kaitlyn and Tayshia — it was the best gift. It gave me comfort and this overwhelming joy, knowing that I’m going to have these two women helping me. It’s all I could ask for in this.”
