Arie Luyendyk Jr. & Lauren Burnham Luyendyk Welcome Twins: 'Momma and Babies Are Doing Great'
Arie Luyendyk Jr. and Lauren Burnham Luyendyk are officially parents of three!
The Bachelor Nation couple welcomed twins — a boy and a girl — on June 11. Arie, who already shares 2-year-old daughter Alessi with Lauren, announced the twins’ arrival on his Instagram Story.
“@luyendyktwins are here! Momma and babies are doing great and everything went smoothly,” he wrote. “Spending time cherishing these moments, thank you all for the support.”
Arie and Lauren — who live in Scottsdale, Arizona, but recently purchased a second home in Hawaii — announced that they were expecting in December following a devastating miscarriage in May 2020. It wasn’t long before the franchise stars revealed that they had two “little miracles” on the way.
Last month, Lauren revealed in an interview with Us Weekly that she was feeling a “little bit nervous” as she approached her babies’ June due date.
“I’m not nervous about the labor part as much, but I haven’t had a C-section before,” she said, noting that the thought of a potential C-section made her anxious. “Surgery is kind of scary to me. So I’m nervous about having a C-section because both of my kids are breech. There is a possibility that will happen.”
Despite her concerns, Lauren said that she was looking forward to watching Alessi step into her new role as a big sister.
“I took her to her first ultrasound with me this weekend. It was fun for her to see that the lady had the ultrasound machine on my stomach, and then she could see the baby on the screen,” the Shades of Rose founder told the outlet.
“I think that maybe helped her put two and two together a little bit more,” she elaborated. “She’s always talking to them, like, ‘Hi, you baby,’ and kissing them. It’s really cute.”
Congrats to Lauren, Arie, and Alessi!
