One week after welcoming son Dutton Walker with wife Lauren Bushnell Lane, country singer Chris Lane released a touching new song, titled “Ain’t Even Met You Yet,” dedicated to the couple’s baby boy.

“Wrote Dutton a Song a Couple Months Ago and wanted to share it with y’all! Being a Dad is the Greatest thing I’ve Ever Experienced!” Chris wrote on Instagram, accompanied by a clip from the single’s music video that details Lauren’s pregnancy and delivery.

“I wonder what your first words will be / I wonder if you’ll look like me / I wonder what the dogs will think the day we bring you home,” Chris sings on the track. “I’m going to buy you your first glove / You’re going to earn that first truck.”

Elsewhere, he croons on the chorus, “I feel ready, but I feel scared to death / All I know is I love you / and I ain’t even met you yet.”

Over on her Instagram page, Lauren expressed her gratitude for Chris and his beautiful song.

“I can’t even explain how it feels seeing our son in Chris’ arms,” the Bachelor Nation star wrote. “My entire heart in one place, outside of my body, and nothing else matters. Thank you for being the best dad and husband and thank you for writing this song that will be ours forever.”

Lauren and Chris’ little one was born June 8 at 11:12 a.m., weighing in at 9 lbs. and measuring 19.5 inches long.

“I've never felt an immediate unconditional love like I now have for Dutton,” Lauren told People at the time “And going through this experience with Chris has made me love and appreciate him even more… I didn’t think that was possible!”

Chris jokingly added, “Everyone in the room, including Lauren and me, were shocked we had a 9-pound baby! Not sure where he was hiding in her belly?!”

On a more serious note, the musician praised his wife for the strength she exuded while delivering their bundle of joy. “Watching Lauren go through the birthing process — from the beginning to the moment she delivered — was the most incredible thing I’ve ever witnessed,” he said. “I experienced an emotion I’ve never felt before.”

Chris — whose 2019 hit “Big, Big Plans” was written specifically for Lauren — also discussed the musical project inspired by his son.

“I’ve been waiting to meet Dutton for nine months now, and the easiest way for me personally to describe my feelings and emotions is to write about it! So naturally, I wrote a song,” the first-time father told the outlet. “It's called ‘Ain’t Even Met You Yet’ and sums up how I’ve been feeling over the last few months. I can’t wait to share it with him one day.”

Lauren and Chris — who tied the knot in a gorgeous Nashville ceremony in October 2019 — announced their pregnancy news in December.
