Caelynn Miller-Keyes on Her 'Unique' Relationship with Dean Unglert: We 'Defied the Odds'
Shortly after celebrating her two-year anniversary with boyfriend Dean Unglert, Caelynn Miller-Keyes reflected on their “unique” relationship in an interview with Us Weekly.
“It’s funny, I don’t think a single person thought we were going to last and even we were like, ‘No, I don’t know what’s going to happen here.’ So, we definitely defied the odds,” the Bachelor Nation star told the outlet on Monday. “I think that’s just our unique relationship and we really try not to listen to it.”
She continued, “When you go on the show, so many people are going to have so many opinions about your relationship — good and bad. I think we just never really listened to those negative people and we just lived our lives.”
Caelynn also reflected on the evolution of her romance with Dean, which began on the beaches of “Bachelor in Paradise” Season 6 in 2019. As viewers will recall, the pair had palpable chemistry — but Dean briefly pressed pause on their progressing relationship. However, he quickly returned to win Caelynn back and they ultimately exited the show together.
“My birthday was on [June 15] and Dean dumped me on my birthday two years ago. He came back five days later, so our anniversary is June 20,” Caelynn noted. “It’s kind of like a week of celebrating, my birthday into the anniversary.”
Elsewhere, the former pageant queen — who recently purchased a home in Las Vegas with Dean — shared her thoughts on what she believes are the “biggest misconceptions” about her beau.
“Something that actually really frustrates me is that [some] people think Dean, like, isn’t a great boyfriend,” she explained. “He is hilarious and he’s very sarcastic and he’s also the most romantic person I think I’ve ever met. He’s so thoughtful.”
Indeed, back in May, Dean treated Caelynn to a spontaneous Mexico vacation so they could recreate their first date, which took place at Villa Amor in Sayulita, Nayarit, and aired on “Paradise.”
“So I think that’s a big misconception — that I’m, like, more invested in the relationship or he, like, doesn’t treat me right,” Caelynn added. “I’m like, ‘No, he treats me exceptionally well and he’s always going out of his way to just surprise me and do romantic things.’”
