What Went Through Blake Moynes' Head When Katie Thurston Asked Him to Stay on 'The Bachelorette'
Blake Moynes stopped by “Click Bait with Bachelor Nation” and chatted with Tayshia Adams and guest co-hosts Mike Johnson and Bibiana Julian about his return to “The Bachelorette.”
As viewers will recall from Monday night’s episode, Blake — who previously appeared on Tayshia and Clare Crawley’s Season 16 of “The Bachelorette” in 2020 — crashed Katie Thurston’s season to explain why he wanted to pursue her.
“With her, I felt totally comfortable right away just because I felt like we were on the same wavelength,” the handsome Canadian recounted, noting that he was taken with Katie from afar after she memorably introduced herself to Matt James on “The Bachelor” Season 25 with a sparkly vibrator in hand.
“Seeing what Katie was like and knowing that we were very similar, I wasn’t too nervous to say F-bombs and be a little raunchy and things like that,” Blake added.
Though Blake made a strong case for Katie to give him a shot, the reigning franchise lead told him that she needed to think about letting him stay amid progressing relationships and escalating drama.
But after sending Thomas Jacobs home in a shocking Rose Ceremony, Katie made her way to Blake’s hotel room in the middle of the night and asked him to move forward in the competition for her heart.
“I had no idea what was going to happen. As it got late into the night and I knew the Rose Ceremony started, I thought I was good for the night. I had no idea,” Blake said. “I just went to bed thinking, ‘OK, there’s another day. I have a whole ’nother day before anything happens.’”
He added, “I think [producers] knew I was thinking that way, so they stirred the pot a little bit by having her show up in the middle of the night and catch me off-guard.”
