Pieper James Reveals Current Status of Her Relationship with Brendan Morais, Plus: Why She Hasn’t Talked to Natasha Parker Yet
Fans first met Pieper James on Season 25 of “The Bachelor,” and after her time on the show, she was spotted out and about with Brendan Morais from Season 16 of “The Bachelorette.”
Both made their way to “Bachelor in Paradise” for Season 7, and fans saw their relationship drama unfold after Brendan seemingly used fellow cast member Natasha Parker for her roses in order to stay and meet Pieper.
Brendan and Pieper ended up leaving the beach together, but since then, fans have questioned whether the controversial couple was still together after Brendan unfollowed Pieper on Instagram and Pieper captioned one of her photos, “A Singularity.”
Pieper stopped by the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast and opened up about everything from where she and Brendan stand now to why she hasn’t talked to Natasha since leaving the beach.
As for the rumors that she and Brendan broke up, Pieper said there’s no truth to them and that they’re still together.
She revealed, “I can understand that Brendan unfollowed me and why people think that we split, but we’re still together. The reason we didn’t choose to go public, like everybody else on the show, was just because obviously our experience was a little bit different. We tainted our own experience in that way, so we are working on ourselves and each other and focusing on being a couple before taking it all public.”

Pieper said it hasn’t been easy to go through and that she and Brendan are working on their flaws individually and as a couple privately.
“Bachelor Happy Hour” host and fellow “Paradise” cast member Becca Kufrin asked if everything she and Brendan went through made their relationship stronger.
“I think it did. When you’re first in a relationship with somebody, there’s a really happy period where you don’t have to deal with a lot of conflict or anything like that. And obviously because we were dealing with conflict, it did make us stronger because right away we knew how we communicated in arguments,” Pieper explained.
She continued, “Right away we knew how we dealt with exterior bad things. I’m not saying it was peaches and rainbows the entire time, but it was good to have that feedback and know for down the line how we both deal with those things.”
Watching the show back definitely was hard on their relationship, with Pieper revealing that she still doesn’t have all the answers from Brendan that she’s been hoping for.
Pieper said that it was particularly “hurtful” seeing Brendan tell Natasha that their connection was stronger than his with Pieper. She explained that it felt like a lie, so it was hurtful to both her and Natasha.
“That’s not fair for Natasha. It’s not fair that that was her experience. It’s not fair that he said those things. I don’t condone those actions, but it was also hurtful to me,” Pieper said.
The Bachelor Nation star added, “In that situation, I sympathize the most with Natasha because nobody deserves to think they’re building a strong connection and just have that flipped the next day.”

When Becca asked how Brendan has explained all of this to her now that they’re still together, Pieper revealed, “I haven’t really gotten a straight answer on that, and I’d love to know. I think that’s kind of part of the reason why we’re keeping our relationship pretty on the down-low, because I do still have questions about the experience. I do still have questions about the things that happened before I got there.”
And while Pieper and Brendan have publicly apologized to Natasha on social media, Becca asked Pieper why she hasn’t contacted her privately to have a conversation.
Pieper explained, “I haven’t reached out to her since coming back because living it, then having to relive it through watching it is a lot. I kind of wanted to give her that space before reaching out. I didn’t want to dredge up feelings that she was already having to re-experience.”
She clarified that she has reached out to Natasha and asked her to speak in person one on one, but they just haven’t done that yet.
“I don’t want to give her an apology that’s over text where I can hide behind a screen and type something out just saying ‘Sorry.’ That is not how I’ve been taught to apologize. That’s not how I was raised,” Pieper explained
Pieper said that she wants to talk face-to-face with Natasha, whether that’s in person or on FaceTime, because she doesn’t want her to feel like her apology is insincere.
We’ll keep you posted if we hear about that conversation if and when it happens.
