Will Explains the Origins of His Drama with Peter and How He Kept His Cool During Their Argument
Will came to “The Bachelorette” to find love with Michelle Young, but throughout the first few episodes, he got tied up in some drama with a fellow contestant.
Bachelor Nation fans saw things heat up between Will and Pizzapreneur Peter after Will wrote Peter’s name for how to spell “narcissist” during their group date last week.
Now, Will is stopping by the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast to reveal when the tension between him and Peter really started and how he kept his cool during Peter’s outburst of throwing his jacket in the pool.
Will told co-hosts Becca Kufrin and Tayshia Adams that while the drama seemed to begin between him and Peter on group dates, it actually started night one.
Will revealed that Peter was one of the first guys he met because they were in the same limo on the way to meet Michelle.

“There’s some of the backstory that people in the house didn’t know and why I clashed with Peter so quickly. I was in the limo, excited to see people after quarantine, and Peter was saying some odd things. He was saying some off-the-wall things to be saying in front of guys you just met. He rubbed me the wrong way, and we both have strong personalities,” Will explained.
Will continued, sharing a specific incident that happened in the limo between Peter and another guy that upset him.
“One of the guys mentioned their hometown in the limo and Peter right away was like, ‘Your hometown is trash.’ And I was like, ‘You just don’t say that about somebody’s hometown. That person was representing their hometown. Don’t come at people like that,’” the Bachelor Nation star said.
Will said that from that moment on, “Peter’s demeanor was always the loudest guy in the room and always wanting to be heard. He was the first one to talk and the last one to talk in any conversation. He wanted the spotlight on him.”
And Will felt like Peter wasn’t “there for the right reasons,” so he decided to joke with him during the school group date.
Will said when he wrote Peter’s name down, it was all in good fun and that he didn’t think Peter was bothered by it at first because he had plenty of opportunities later that day to confront him about it.

But as fans saw, Peter addressed the issue on the group date, which Will thought was “because he wanted the spotlight and attention when all the other guys were watching.”
Things continued to escalate between Peter and Will into this week, when we saw Peter throw Will’s jacket into the pool after he won it on the “Top Gun” group date.
When Tayshia and Becca asked Will how he “kept his cool” during that moment, Will said that he “didn’t want to let Peter win” and he was tired of the drama impacting his relationship with Michelle.
He said, “I wanted to go in and talk to Michelle with a clear head. That affected me that every time I got to talk to her, I had to deal with Peter right before and it threw me off. It didn’t feel like I was putting my best foot forward. Michelle is able to read your energy and can tell if you’re upset, so it took away from me being Will and that funny goofy guy. I didn’t like that with myself.”
So Will tried to wave it off and walk away rather than have a blowup with Peter because he wanted to keep the focus on Michelle.
Tayshia chimed in, saying that it broke her heart to watch Will walk away in tears, but it showed his true character for not escalating the situation.
Tayhshia noted, “True colors always end up showing, and you were the better man” in that situation.
