Tayshia & Becca Share Their Reactions to Joe Being Sent Home, Plus: Can Introverts Succeed on Bachelor Nation Shows?
Bachelor Nation fans saw Michelle Young send Joe home during a dramatic Rose Ceremony on this week’s episode of “The Bachelorette.”
The emotional goodbye left fans shocked, and “Bachelor Happy Hour” co-hosts Tayshia Adams and Becca Kufrin were equally surprised.
Tayshia shared what that Rose Ceremony was like being there in person, as she also co-hosts this season of “The Bachelorette.”
Tayshia said, “I was so shocked when Brandon took her to talk because at that point we’re standing in the wings, ready to go out there and say what we’ve gotta say, and you kind of forget that things might not go as planned. When he grabbed her, I realized it could go one of two ways: Either he’s leaving or he’s gonna propose to her right there. There were actually a million things that could’ve happened in that situation. We were just very concerned for her.”
Tayshia continued, revealing, “We talked to her right after Brandon had spoken to her, but it wasn’t aired. She was just really shaken up by it, to be honest. She said that conversation right there made her more confused than anything.”
The “Bachelorette” co-host said that conversation with Brandon really might have swayed Michelle’s decision, adding, “That was the reassurance she needed. I definitely think it had a part in Brandon staying that night.”

And when Becca asked Tayshia if she really thought Brandon pulling Michelle aside made a difference, Tayshia shared another reason why she was so shocked.
Tayshia said, “I’m telling you, she even said to Joe during their Fantasy Suite that she would cook breakfast next time and he was like, ‘So there’s gonna be another morning?’ And she was like, ‘Well, yeah.’ She even said, ‘I could see Joe being my soul mate.’ And that was after Brandon’s Fantasy Suite date.”
Becca agreed but noted that going into those Rose Ceremonies towards the end, the leads “usually have an idea of what they’re going to do and you know that day where your heart is.”
The “Bachelor Happy Hour” co-hosts discussed Joe’s departure and had a conversation about whether they think introverted people like Joe are able to be successful on Bachelor Nation shows.
Becca said, “I wouldn’t say you have to be an extrovert to be successful on this show. I mean, exhibit A is Joe and he’s now in the final three of Michelle’s season and he is very much an introvert. Taking it back to my time on ‘The Bachelor,’ the final four girls, we were all vastly different.

“Lauren was who Arie ended up with and I would say she’s an introvert. She was much more quiet. We had very loud personalities on the season who took up a lot of the screen time, but Lauren was there till the end and she was always more quiet, very kind and sweet, and not a loud, rambunctious person, and she was very successful.”
Becca continued, saying it’s really about who the lead is looking for. As a former lead, she said, “If the lead is getting enough from someone who is more quiet and introverted and they’re getting their questions answered, then I get it. I don’t always gravitate towards the loudest guy in the room.”
Tayshia agreed and also threw it back to her time on “The Bachelor,” saying ,“Even going back to my season on ‘The Bachelor,’ Cassie and Hannah G. weren’t the loudest girls in the room either. There were much bigger personalities. I do think they can be introverts; it just depends how you are with the person. If you’re silly and giggly and yourself, you don’t have to be that loud person. I think that introverts can be successful, actually.”
Becca agreed, saying, “It’s all about communication. Just because someone doesn’t appreciate being in a massive group setting and displaying everything for people to see, if you’re still communicating well and being who you genuinely are to the person, then that’s all that matters.”
