Michelle Young Shares the Advice She Gave Clayton Echard for His Journey as the Bachelor
While things didn’t work out between Clayton Echard and Michelle Young on “The Bachelorette,” the two have remained friends!
As Clayton’s journey as the Bachelor unfolds, Michelle shared that they have been in touch, and she’s given him advice along the way.
The former Bachelorette stopped by the “Click Bait with Bachelor Nation” podcast and discussed Clayton’s season.
Joe Amabile brought up that Clayton has said in interviews that he’s been reading the comments on social media, and Tia Booth said it’s sometimes “hard not to,” but Michelle said she advised Clayton against reading what others have to say.
The former Bachelorette said, “Clayton and I have a very good relationship where we have had a lot of really good conversations before he started filming, during the show, and now after as everything has started unfolding. You go through all these different phases of gearing up to be the lead, then you are there, and then being done [and] watching it unfold. We have had a lot of really good conversations, and I feel like he’s doing a good job of just rolling with the punches.”

She continued, “People are mean on the Internet! Can we talk about how people will go out of their way to go to your page to send you paragraphs about you and your choices? I’m like, ‘Clayton, don’t look at that, don’t look at the comments. You can if you want to, but at the end of the day, that’s their time they’re wasting.’ It’s equivalent to those spam calls. If you’re the person who’s hunting down my page to write my paragraphs, you are wasting your time because it’s not affecting me. You just spent time out of your day trying to spam me like those people who call trying to steal your money.”
So while Michelle agreed that it can be hard to not look at the comments sometimes, she strongly suggested to Clayton that he ignore the negativity.
That’s some good advice for Clayton and everyone, honestly!
