Mike Johnson Writes Heartbreaking Tribute to Cheslie Kryst: ‘The Tears Don’t Stop’
Sending prayers.
Bachelor Nation star Mike Johnson wrote an emotional tribute to Cheslie Kryst just days after she passed away at only 30 years old.
Over the weekend, it was revealed that the beauty queen, lawyer, and “Extra” TV correspondent fell from a “higher elevation” of a 60-story condominium in New York City and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The New York City Office of Chief Medical Examiner later confirmed that Cheslie died by suicide, according to the autopsy.
Now Mike, who had a close relationship with Cheslie, took to Instagram to share some photos and videos with the TV host from a trip they took together.
He also wrote a heartbreaking note to Cheslie and her family.
Mike said, “Writing this is so hard for so many reasons, one of which being I feel so deeply for your family and can’t imagine. And two, because writing this makes it real. I never told you, but I look at these pix often and I’m mad I deleted our TikToks bc with you being so patient, I still couldn’t dance on your level. Now I care less and just want to see you happy, dancing, and carefree.”
He went on, “I keep thinking about calling you right now and terrified of you not being able to pick up. The tears don’t stop, I’m leaking from my eyes throughout the day, I’m scared at night with goosebumps constantly covering my body, eyelashes falling, and I catch myself drifting off to thoughts and memories of you.”

Mike continued with his tribute, writing, “I can hear your voice as I write this, I can see through my eyes your mannerisms and your spirit radiating love. The warmth in your smile will always be there, even in the coldest spaces. I feel your soft hands daily holding me, when we just want to hold you. The inspiration, the poise, the fearless leader, fashion icon, walking embodiment of beauty, hair tutorials, woman empowerment, racial equality fighter, nails stay popping, the queen w your crown quite literally, the intelligent woman that you are will FOREVER be missed. The softness & tenderness in your eyes when speaking and walking down the sidewalks w you I’ll always cherish.”
And Mike shared some words for Cheslie’s family in his post as well.
The Bachelor Nation star said, “To your beautiful family, every ounce of love I have pours out of me for you. No words can even begin to say what I want to say to you all. I’m always here for you. The life that you shared with us all, your greatness that you exude. I’ll forever be in awe of you, we love you Cheslie.”
He concluded his post by sharing the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline phone number, writing, “If you or anyone is struggling w thoughts of suicide, please contact the Natl Suicide Hotline at: 1-800-273-8255.”
