A group date to remember!

One of the most memorable dates from Clayton Echard’s season of “The Bachelor” has to be the football group date for a variety of reasons.

Not only were there tackles on the field, but the drama continued throughout the night and reached a climax when Shanae crashed the winning team’s cocktail party.

Now Jill, who was on the losing team alongside Shanae, stopped by the “Talking It Out with Bachelor Nation” podcast and looked back on that dramatic day.

Jill told co-hosts Mike Johnson and Bryan Abasolo that despite being on the losing team, she actually had a great time during the football date.

The Bachelor Nation star said, “I honestly had so much fun on that date even though I lost. I was like, ‘Contact sports? Let’s go!’ It was so fun. I got rocked a couple times hard by Teddi out of all people. She was the one to take me down. And Mara got me by the head. I was so scared, but I honestly had a good time. Just like Marlena said, when you take an L, you take it with pride.”

But as she sat with her team in the locker room after their loss, Jill noticed Shanae started acting strangely.

Jill explained, “We were all sitting around in our football uniforms crying and sad we didn’t get that extra time with Clayton, but Shanae didn’t say a word and just silently rises and exits. That was the last that we saw of her that night.”

But fans know that wasn’t the rest we all saw of Shanae that night. She infamously crashed the after-party for the winning team and threw their trophy during an outburst.

Jill said she had no idea any of that happened as it was unfolding.

When Jill got home, she said, “I went to sleep and had an early night. Sierra was my roommate in Houston, so in the morning I asked her how the cocktail party was and she rolls over and goes, ‘Biiiitch.’ I knew I was about to get the tea.”

Jill continued on, saying that she was surprised that Shanae crashed the cocktail party.

She shared, “When Sierra told me Shanae went to the cocktail party, I was honestly shocked. Who did she hitch a ride with to get to go to the cocktail party. What the heck? It was ridiculous. Sierra told me that Shanae said she deserved to be there and that she threw the trophy, and I was shocked. Everyone was still sleeping as Sierra told me this, so I ran over to Rachel’s room to wake her up and tell her Shanae showed up to the cocktail party.”

During her conversation with Bryan and Mike, Jill revealed that this wasn’t the only time she was shocked by Shanae’s behavior.

Jill said, “She was an enigma. She kept to herself a lot of the time. I was shocked along with the rest of America about the things she was saying in her interviews. My feelings have changed because when I left, I thought she was just troubled.”
