Danielle Maltby Gets Candid About Therapy and Mental Health in Vulnerable Post
Opening up.
Bachelor Nation fans first met Danielle Maltby on Season 21 of “The Bachelor,” and she went on to appear on Season 4 of “Bachelor in Paradise.”
Since her time on Bachelor Nation shows, Danielle continues to use her platform to share resources and uplift voices in medicine on her “WoMed Podcast.”
Now, Danielle took to Instagram to share an important message about mental health and therapy.
Alongside black and white photos of herself, the Bachelor Nation star wrote, “I just hit a HUGE personal milestone. A little over a year ago, I decided to start committing to myself. I have been seeing my therapist every 2 weeks for the last year. **Internal monologue in Shania Twain** Let’s go Girl!”

She went on, saying, “I was happy, had a great job, great podcast but things still felt kind of stagnant. I felt like there could be more and wanted more. I wanted to be someone I wanted to meet in a partner and I was finally in a position where I could afford therapy (a huge f*cking privilege).”
Danielle explained why she decided to go to therapy at the time and how it’s helped her.
She said, “I hadn’t dated anyone seriously and knew I still had triggers surrounding relationships and love. I had reached the point though where I was completely happy alone and at peace with where I was in life. But, I also knew the thought of anyone potentially disrupting that peace scared the crap out of me. I am so grateful for the relationship I have been able to foster with myself and my therapist.”
Danielle shared that she has some great sessions with her therapist when she’s feeling good and some really hard sessions when she’s moving through a tougher time.

She shared what she hopes others get from her opening up, writing, “If this post does anything, please let it be to help you get proactive for yourself. The time I have dedicated to healing and processing has helped me so much and I hope it makes me a better future partner, but regardless, I am so damn proud of myself and still have a long way to go.”
The Bachelor Nation star acknowledged that therapy is expensive, and she knows it’s a privilege to be able to afford it, so she shared some resources for more affordable therapy options.
She said, “Therapy shouldn’t be a luxury and it is for the majority of Americans. This isn’t an ad but if you are looking for a place to start talking to someone, I know Better Help and Talk Space offer very safe and convenient online platforms with financial assistance. Check with your insurance too and see if any therapists or practices are covered in your area. If no one has told you, I think you matter and your mental health matters.”
We know that Danielle opening up and being so vulnerable will help so many others going through something similar.
