Aven Reveals If He Got the Closure He Needed with Rachel and Clarifies Getting ‘Caught Up’ on ‘The Bachelorette’
Aven is opening up.
Bachelor Nation fans saw Rachel and Aven’s love story come to an end on this week’s episode of “The Bachelorette.”
Now, Aven is joining Becca Kufrin and Michelle Young on the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast to discuss his breakup and reuniting with Rachel at “After the Final Rose.”
Becca and Michelle started off asking Aven if he felt like he said everything he wanted to say at “AFR.”
He said, “It went by really fast. The questions that Jesse asked, I tried to answer with what I am feeling at this time. Watching it back, I tried to go back to some of those thoughts, feelings, and emotions I was having to re-express to her. I think I got what I wanted to off my chest. I wasn’t all the way there up there, I was just saying what was on my mind, and I think I said everything I needed to.”

And Aven also revealed what he was nervous about, saying, “Seeing Rachel for the first time in four or five months was extremely nerve-wracking, but also being live on television, I would say those nerves were 50/50. I was more so anticipating seeing her again and wanting it to go well. I wanted our interaction to go well and I wanted the energy to be right.”
Michelle and Becca asked Aven if he feels like he got the closure he needed from their interaction on last night’s episode.
He said, “I think the conversation went well. We were able to talk it out up there. I was able to ask if she was doing okay and I apologized for the way things happened. She wished me the best, so it went how it was supposed to. We both said what needed to be said and we can take things from there.”

The co-hosts also asked Aven to elaborate on what he meant when he said he told Rachel he got caught up in the process and wasn’t sure if he was really ready to propose.
Aven said, “Saying I was caught up in the moment wasn’t the first choice of words I should’ve gone with. What I was trying to explain to her is that we were going through all these dates and having all these conversations and things were just progressing so perfectly with us. I feel like me feeling ready for an engagement was me being a little caught up in everything. When I had the time to evaluate where I was at, I had new emotions about how I was feeling.”
He admitted that he wishes he would’ve had time to have those conversations with Rachel first before discussing his hesitations with her family.
