Opening up!

Bachelor Nation fans met Brandon Jones on Season 18 of “The Bachelorette,” and now his love story with Serene Russell is unfolding on Season 8 of “Bachelor in Paradise.”

Brandon stopped by the “Click Bait with Bachelor Nation” podcast, where he discussed all things “Paradise” and spilled some behind-the-scenes tea.

Brandon opened up to co-hosts Joe Amabile, Natasha Parker, and Tia Booth about his special one-on-one date with Serene.

He said, “Leading up to our first date, Serene and I spent as much time as possible together. I got to meet everyone, but I realized my eyes were set on Serene. We started napping together and getting breakfast together. We would do little things, and I would do cute things on the beach for her. Drama was popping off at every corner, so we were just glad we had each other away from the drama and could focus on us.”

So Brandon was extremely excited when he finally got a date card and could enjoy some one-on-one time with Serene.

The Bachelor Nation star said, “I got the date card and I was so excited. It felt like everything was leading up to that. Ask anyone who was on the beach — my feelings were growing enormously every single day. Having all these talks just felt like therapy. I got to know my feelings better because we were saying them out loud.”

Brandon went on and shared why he was nervous for the date as well as excited, saying, “I was nervous for the date too. I am the corny guy who falls in love quickly. I was about to tell her I was falling in love and thought she might just say that’s great. But it went great and we talked for a long time. It was a lot longer than what we saw. I didn’t know that she got teary-eyed after. I was going through the emotions too.”

And while we’ve seen sparks flying between Brandon and Serene, he shared that she was also interested in Rodney at one point in “Paradise.”

Brandon said, “I’m excited to give you all the juice because a lot of it was cut out. When Rodney came on the beach, Serene expressed to me that she was also open to going on a date with Rodney if he asked. If he asked her, she most definitely was going to go. I wanted her to explore it if she wanted to because if she came back and still wanted to be with me, that was enough clarity.”

He went on, adding, “She was honest about it; we had a straightforward conversation. In my head, I was like, ‘Damn, me and Rodney are about to date the same girl again!’ I thought he was going to choose Serene, but he was more interested in Teddi, I guess!”
