Logan Discusses Pursing Shanae Despite Her Reputation: ‘I Understand Feeling Misunderstood’
Opening up.
Bachelor Nation fans met Logan Palmer on Season 19 of “The Bachelorette,” and now he’s back on our screens looking for love on Season 8 of “Bachelor in Paradise.”
This week, he stopped by the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast and opened up about his journey on “Paradise” so far.
Co-hosts Michelle Young and Becca Kufrin asked Logan why he was initially interested in meeting Shanae in “Paradise” after how she acted on “The Bachelor.”
Logan said, “Jesse asked me at the stairs who I wanted to get to know and I said Shanae. It was the kind of thing where I felt like on my season and in a lot of my life in general, I was someone who was a bit misunderstood. On my season, I was trying to be honest and do the right thing and sometimes it came out in ways that people didn’t quite understand.”

He went on, explaining, “I felt like I was kind of the odd man out and I felt like an outcast a bit. I also felt that way growing up as a kid and I looked at Shanae and thought that she may be someone that feels that way too. She might feel like a bit of an oddball in the group as a whole. I thought maybe that she was misunderstood too or just very different in person. I thought maybe there could be a lot more to her. She’s also beautiful! That also played a little bit into it.”
And Logan shared that his suspicions were true: Shanae was different than he thought she might be.
While they weren’t necessarily the perfect match, Logan did enjoy their one-on-one date together.
He said, “I thought maybe she was like me in a lot of ways that are rare and I wasn’t wrong. That first date, I realized that a lot of the things I was curious about turned out to be true. There is a lot more to Shanae than people know. However, I think there are some qualities that came with that that overpowered the good things that I saw. There were some qualities that weren’t really conducive to a relationship with me that overpowered the good things for us.”
